What have you done to your 1st gen Tundra today?

It sound ball bearing in nature. I suggest idler only because of that.

 

Power steering pump.

 

It's definitely a pulley/bearing. Clearly one on the passenger side. Maybe power steering?

 

All good guesses. If it starts up again I'll report back.

 

Any super knoweldgeable tire guys here. First two are the Kuhmo AT51s and the the relacement AT52. All filled to 40 psi, all at 40 psi, and yet the AT52 consistantly looks low.

 

My michelins always look low, too.

 

A little bulge is normal. Those don't look low to me.

 

Hope you are not trying to loosen the welded nut at the bottom.

TBM is your splash shield metal or fiberglass? What did you coat it with?

This is exactly what I heard after I just recently replaced my tensioner, and its belt squeak. Shot WD on the flat of the belt and it instantly disappeared. So for me at least, its NOT a bearing.

 

Discovered something cool today looking at my Eclipse pictures. Also, my phones camera is perfectly fine ffs!

I had the same issue with mine although you got some good pics without a filter while mine were just a fail.

 

Replaced steering rack bushings today. Took wayyyy longer than I thought it would. What a fight on that driver side bushing holy hell. Then this evening after it was all “done” I spotted a washer in the driveway. I forgot the damn washer behind the driver side bushing. Now tomorrow I get to take it all apart and slide that washer in. Fml

 

I just want to say: You're not the first person to make similar mistakes. Others have installed the washers backwards. It happens, don't beat yourself up too bad.

Next time you're in ATL you can help me change mine

 

it is almost and I mean almost, I’ve done a lot of wrenching, but getting that damn drivers side bushing out was a pain in the ass. Also putting the bearing sleeve in wasn’t as easy as it should have been either. I had to make a bearing press from Home Depot and I still mushroomed the sleeve a bit, besides forgetting the washer. It was not fun in the driveway

not to mention using the stupid stock jack on a 2x6” all the way extended

 

Alright I can’t hold it in any longer. Almost done. Final touches tomorrow and I’ll post documented pics rather than a teaser haha.
