Customer: I need the final drawings for regulatory approval.
Us: You need to stop holding up (i.e. make the progress payment) the vendor so they can finish their job. Then we can issue the drawings.
Customer: Blah, blah, blah… I need the drawings.

Pretty sure I was dumb and paid more for my Taco than you did for your Tundra.

 

Yeah, I am the only one. I'm okay with it. It gives me an excuse to leave the office for a bit. If they complain, which they won't because both of my supervisors are awesome, I can say "Sorry, I needed to get water and my only option is to go down the road. I cannot control the water availability and I wasn't notified of the issue prior to showing up for work so I had no reasonable way to prepare for it."

 

I can't clarify any further without getting a ban.

 

Do not interfere with Tundra folk. We are only trying to be hard working Americans pursuing our dreams. Forgiveness of Tundra mod debt will permit us to achieve our American dream of having a Tundra with all of the mods possible. We have been denied this right. Now is the time for OUR President to do us right and permit us to pursue our dream.

I'm not buying into that kind of fallacy. What you're saying is that something is better because it sells more? With that kind of logic you might as well start saying that McDonald's burgers are better than any other burger based on revenue alone. Not buying it. I'm in back where I started.

Now if you said it was a better off road trail rig you may have an argument. But even then I'm still at a No for what I use a truck for. Small trucks just can't pull enough, pack enough or carry as many people comfortably as a tundra could.

 

That was a full on tongue in cheek comment because you are exactly right that sales mean nothing. Just because something is popular or sells well doesn't make it good.

However, the Tacoma is a better product because it addresses a greater share of the market's needs. Most people do not need more than a midsize. Now, you get into half ton territory and the 5.7 Tundra is the sweet spot as it is capable of most light duty truck tasks while being extremely reliable. Generally, if it's too much for a 5.7 Tundra it's not going to be done well by any half ton, so I want a heavy duty truck anyway.

Not quite. I didn't say it was a better truck, because I think that is entirely too subjective. I said it's a better product. That's commentary from the business perspective rather than the consumer side. If they had to drop one or the other, then the product that appeals to more consumers will be the one that survives. That doesn't say anything about the capability of the vehicle, but it's value as a product.
