I did. 8/100 plus Geoco 7/72 mechanical breakdown coverage for a few dollars a month that I have decided not to cancel quite yet to keep options open.

It has not stranded me yet but it is making me nervous. The timing is right in that I can monitor things like the new Ram charger's initial record for up to 6/7 more years without out of pocket repair worries and then figure out what I might want to do.

As of right now on balance I still think it's an awesome driving and enjoyable vehicle but things have to be pretty quiet for 6 more years to convince me to go to year 10.

The average hybrid variant will never be more reliable than the non-hybrid variant for both Toyota and Ford.

Congrats on getting your MY24. I’ve been following the order tracking thread on FRF, people starting to get theirs, but lots of others still waiting. Is yours a March build?

Here is the payload of our F-150. From the inside of the door jam.

Mind you it is equipped with a cage.

People don’t believe there are 2k lb payload F150’s out there like they are some mythical unicorn but I’ve seen multiple with my own eyes. It doesn’t even need to have heavy duty payload to be over 2k.

Nice! Those Police Responder F-150's come with pursuit rated AT's and steel wheels that can handle 8" curbs! Curious as to what tire being used? Looks like a Goodyear.

Fords Implements Stair Step Incentives to move the 2023's

"The Detroit company has initiated what the industry terms as “stair-step incentives” to stimulate sales. This approach involves offering dealers a bonus for each 2023 model year F-150 trucks they sell once they reach a specified target. Furthermore, the payout per vehicle increases if the dealership surpasses 120 percent of its sales goal."

Probably as good a time as any to get in there and get a '23 if that is what you have been looking for. Best selection now. 8^0
Hammer the dealer - he will break. He needs to move them. If you find a truck you like, find out how long it has been sitting there.

I’ll get some pics of the cage today.

Here is the interior. Using my Tundra charger for extra horsepower. Love the new short bed, makes the truck a lot more maneuverable thru some tight trails we have to drive thru. Out previous F-150 have the long bed, was really hard to drive thru tight trails out in the mountains. The V6 Eco Boost with the unique Police responder tune and all wheel drive really makes this bad boy go!

when I get to the station I’ll get some pics of the cage.
We also got new Tahoes as well. Love the Tahoes also.

I think for our setup we got the MT version of the Goodyear Enforcers. They’ve got the mountain snowflake rating also 6 ply. In few months of use in the field we usually switch em out to 10 ply load E rated tires. We get various brands, Copper, Toyo, is what I’ve seen. On our older units we use Tough man or some off brand tires just to get it thru its life cycle tile the unit is replaced. We usually replace our units at or before 75 K, since we really do put em thru the wringer out there. Rain or shine these vehicles are pushed to their limits. Highways and off road.

When working with DPS Troopers, they will leave their units on the highway and jump in with us of we are to go off road. Troopers are slated to get new Trail Bosses pretty soon. They just have to reach 140k first before they are given a new unit. The Trail Bosses are sitting in Austin, Tx waiting for their new owners.

Damn, I was grazing on the F150 forum. It seems like they've made no progress on being able to sort and supply APIM's and other modules. The numbers for claim %'s would say they have made zero progress on their claim rates and are only in the middle innings of a multi-year quality improvement effort. If I'm buying the Big 3 GMC is the only one I would consider.

Cost of Toyota spare parts is for too high in Canada

    815600C130 MRSP CAD$981.15 + shipping CAD$60. Got a discount.
Some OEM parts are golden, duct tape is silver, isn’t it?

Yeah. Have you compared the cost of the F150 Ecoboost turbos to the Tundras? It’s like $1000 for a pair of F150 turbos and I think it was almost 3k a piece for the Tundra units. $6k for an Ecoboost long block vs $20k(or so I’ve heard) for a Tundra.

I figured that was the reason Toyota owners were so obsessed with reliability. If their Toyota’s weren’t reliable outside of warranty they would go broke

Those turbos are expensive af though.

But I guess if theirs blew a lot had a high supply like ford they’d be cheaper .

Who makes the Tundra turbo? BorgWarner makes the Ford ones - their name is on it them in huge letters. They make the Ford transfer cases too.

Makes sense. I think there are often only one or two viable suppliers for a particular component. I believe Ram uses a near identical BorgWarner transfer case to the F-150 ones.

GM uses Magna quite a bit. They build their transfer cases and their seats. Might explain something - those are two very different components and GM seats are awful. Ford uses Magna for some stuff, but Adient for their seats.

yeah they are the AT Enforcers. Tread kinda thin.
    IMG_2534.jpg IMG_2535.jpg

I was curious of the skid plate. It’s ballistic plastic one. We used to get steel ones on our other units seems to be that’s not the case anymore. I’ll have to check the Tahoe see what skid plates they got.

Almost everyone, including Toyota, is using BorgWarner t-cases I think.

Ford also uses Garrett for the 2.7 turbos now and the transverse 3.5L turbos that used to be in the Explorer sport/Taurus SHO.
