    From what I understand, there's an old fault line out in your neck of the woods that hiccups every now and then. When it does slip it can certainly be unsettling. Dogs know several seconds before. I was living in Van Nuys when the Northridge quake hit. That sucked big time. All my windows broke. My fridge moved out 4ft and everything in it was on the kitchen floor. Pantry lost everything to the floor. No power. No water. For several days. We had a 1/2 ton granite surface plate in our calibration lab that bounced high enough to sit almost sideways on its quite beefy angle iron support frame. All of our test equipment was on the floor. Racks of thousands of parts domino'd with everything spilling out. Fun times. Fortunately my beer was in cans, not bottles. Heh
