I agree with that. All my other trucks with 5% on the sides and back glass looked like the windshield was tinted because inside the cab itself was so dark lol

I should have said “block heat”. You can feel the difference between tinted and not tinted windshields…you probably already know that though…

News flash tint isn’t necessary for any vehicle. It’s owner preference. I’ve never had windshield tinted until now.

What specifically are you looking for with doing windshield tinting? Having matching windows? Heat? The look?

Obviously illegal in Ohio. I personally have a 20% strip down slightly further than the marked line and kinda curves with the windshield for a smooth look. I personally wouldn't want a full windshield done because of how much it'd suck to see out of at night. Others may have a medical reason, others like the look, but to me, it's not worth the impaired night time vision just to have it done. Hence why it's illegal.

Luckily Ohio isn't super strict with window tints (at least all of the municipalities I go through) so if you do decide to do it, you should be fine.

It's also removeable if it gets to the point where you cant handle it anymore.

Main reason I am having the windows tinted is heat. Depending on what side of the truck the sun is on... I'm cooking or the wife is.
I was considering the windshield for the same reason but wanted some input from anyone that has had it done.

Got my pro tinted last week. Got 5% all the way around, with a 5% eyebrow on the windshield. Got a vid of the process and whatnot on my insta @TRDPRO.TX

    Also, three things
    1. Keep in mind the back window is flimsy on these tundras since it rolls down; and you need to make sure the person doing the job knows this; otherwise they could break it.
    2. If you are going to do the brow to your AS1 Line, the person doing the job will need a blowtorch to heat up the glue on the dashcam (it is stuck on with 3m tape)
    3. Make sure they don't leave your truck in the dealer display mode (99% of tinters will do this), it will kill the truck within three hours and your check engine light will turn on. Also there isn't even a battery in the engine bay; so you have to jump it via fuse box.

(Again this is my experience getting a THIRD GEN tinted; it looks like you got a 2 or 2.5, so disregard #2 and #3).

Got it done today... Looks pretty good and now it all pretty much matches from front to back.

Did you end up doing anything on the windshield or just the sides? It looks good.

I'm going to hold off on the windshield for now. I will put a few miles on with the side windows done and see how I like it.
