What have you done to your 2.5 gen Tundra today?

I feel like this deserves a camp fire story.

I never had any catastrophic failures with the hairspray versions I had growing up… though the threaded cap did go ballistic a few times.

Going to be overhauling my brake system pretty soon. Looking to maybe throw some of the POR paint on the calipers. What’s the consensus on a brake color for this motif? I’m thinking black or silver.

 

My vote is for black. I think that would look pretty slick

 

@BlueRibbon4x4 just did the blue. I think that would look nice, its not too bright, not too visible, but just adds a little color.
If that isn't of interest, I'd say black over silver. They are basically silver now

 

They are basically silver indeed. What I would hope to see if I painted them silver would be that brake dust easily streaming off of a smoother surface than what the caliper currently has. Who knows though? Pie in the sky?

They’re definitely smoother. The Por15 lays down pretty thick. I vote blue too. It dries much lighter than it looks in the can.

Yessir! It has that pastel overtone, just darker. It would definitely look great with Cavalry.

remaining KUAT rack parts arrived last night. got it mounted and installed for now. pics to come later today.

 

Just had the following installed:

• BDS 4.5" lift kit w/ Fox shocks and Swaybar Links
• Black Rhino Barricade 20x9 +10 wheels powder coated black. 20" Barricades only come in Olive Drab.
• BFG KO2 35x12.5 R20.

 

Alignment to hopefully keep the new tires fresh.

 

Make sure you add a couple extra torques to the cam nuts so you don’t blow it out on Sunday

This! Mine popped when turning and hitting bumps and messed up the alignment.

 

Seasonal swap of tires… got spicier when I spotted my 285 75 17 E load KO2’s had a screw / bolt through the shoulder / sidewall. Good excuse to try out some 35 x 12.5 Toyo Open Country AT3 in C Load.

 

I had one alignment done that way, and now I go under and hang on the cams with a wrench to lock them in. Pretty sure a loose alignment cam is what flattened one of the cam tabs (after I hit a big ass hole at speed, too...)

 

What would that torque spec be?

 

Oil change and Transmission drain and fill at the dealership when picking up two new LCAs under warranty.

 

Did you do an alignment afterwards?

 

Picked it up after having the windows tinted to match the topper. I'm pretty happy with it.

Did the ride soften up quite a bit moving to C load? I was debating the Falken wildpeak at4w in 35x11.5r18 C load. Any idea which are the quieter long term between the two?
