Please point me to the thread if this has already been discussed.
I noticed when I roll my rear glass all the way up I hear a beep (like the lock/unlock beep) outside the truck but its a long constant beep. Is this normal and does anyone have any idea why it does this?

*I purposely didn't include the wife;) lol j/k.
I do not think it's pressure sensitive!

I do not get the beep when the rear glass closes. But I do not get the beep / chirp either when I lock the doors with the fob..... still trying to figure that out.

I wonder if your speaker is unplugged?
Under hood on driverside grey in color I think.
Or is the volume turned down?

Happened to me today, first time I've noticed it anyway. Sitting in a drive thru. General concensus from the other threads is its to let you know its up. Seems like a very unnecessary long beep to me, but I'm no engineer

Happy member of the "no beep club." I do get a notification beep if a window(s) is open when the truck is off and I exit the vehicle.

I don’t have the same window as you guys (I’m in an SR5, so it’s a power horizontal sliding window).
I wonder if you all have your fobs programmed with the ability to roll down windows with a long press of the unlock button. If it beeps for some of you and not others, maybe the difference is in wether or not your trucks are set for that option.

An astute observation. You may be on to something. Yes, I do have the feature customized to allow the windows to power down with a long hold on the fob unlock button and I do not get the beep. Not sure if I understand the connection, but it could exist.
[Wish windows would power up with the fob!!]

My windows are not programmed and I have the beep. Thought maybe it was a signal that all windows are up for locking purposes. Nope. Rear window still beeps when other windows are open. Very odd. If it beeped on the way up I could see it as a safety signal for someone in the bed, but not til fully up.

Tried it again this morning. Sure enough, it beeps every time. You can't hear it while driving or over a radio at all. It's probably done this the whole time, but you actually have to be stopped with the windows down to hear it. Not sure what the point of that would be haha

That’s funny, all I’ve ever had is crewmaxes with that window. I just went out and checked my truck and sure enough it does beep when I close it. Only when the shifter is not in park. I have a ton of miles on my 22 and I use the window a ton, but never once heard the beep till now. My only guess is that it’s a reminder that the window is fully closed. It is hard to hear with the windows closed

OK, I have the beep and confirmed it occurs in all shifter positions except P.

Mine is programmed to roll windows down with the key fob but the rear window is not included all windows and sunroof open but rear window does not. I have tested this beep many ways, if you are moving over 3 mph it won’t beep, if you have not moved at all yet after starting the car it doesn’t always beep, if you have driven at all and roll it up it will beep every time once it’s fully closed. I’ve asked Toyota service they have no idea why it does it, I’ve called Toyota advocate line had them look in to it and still no answer as to why it does it. I noticed it won’t do it if you have not driven yet when I took it to Toyota to show them as I turned off the truck when I got there and when I started it up to show the tech it wouldn’t do it, as soon as I drove to the exit of the parking lot it started doing it again. That seems to be consistent if you haven’t driven yet (on mine) it will not beep. It’s very odd especially given the beep is on the outside of the vehicle you would think it would be inside if it was to warn anyone in the car of any situation. I have seen some posted online saying they determined it was an electrical fault and the beep is meant to warn of an obstruction or failure of the window closing completely and correctly however I have not been able to verify that with Toyota.
