I just traded in my 2022 SR5 for a brand new 2024 limited hybrid. After leaving the dealership I came to a red light and noticed the smell of possibly oil burning. Considering it's a new truck I didn't think much of it. This morning I noticed the smell of something burning again but the smell went away.

When I got home and parked I got out of the truck and noticed the smell coming from the front of the truck.

Is this normal or should I be concerned?

It is possible they could have added a little oil and spilled some of it. But other than that, sounds like you need to see if any fresh dripped last night. If so check oil. Make sure level is good. Call them, they need to look at it.

Yeah that is a possibility considering I did check for leaks and there was nothing. Oil level is in the normal range.

Sounds like new truck smell. It will smell like burning plastic for the first few hundred miles.

It is normal. I have 320 miles on my Limited TRD and it just stopped having that smell. They have undercoat on certain areas and the overspray causes it. Normal.

Yeah, electrical wiring insulation/oil/heat whatever. Always weird smells for a good while when new.

Could you tell us how's the first impression difference between 2022 and 2024? Is it worth it to trade up?

Firstly I would say going to hybrid you can instantaneously feel the difference in torque and it's great! The 24 for has no interior creaks or rattles everything seems to be finely tuned now, and no wind noise so far. Personally for me going from an SR5 to the Limited was a great move. I would say it's worth trading up from a 22 to a 24 IMO. Also the dealership gave me a great deal on my trade value.
