265/65r17 is OEM. You've added 1" diameter by going with 265/70r17. Which is fine, it's a great upgrade for people only looking to lift ~1", it'll look awesome once you get the lift in. Other than being a little more rigid because E-rated tire.

luckily I made sure these Mickey Thompson are SL rated. Hoping the 2nd notch will give the .75” lift and then a little trimming will get it clear. Do you think I’ll pick up any of the sagging from the old shocks that were on there?

What is the total diameter of both tires? My KO2's were 32.8".

Trans is back in. Next step is balance the gold starfish, fluids and testing. Fingers crossed today, as long as the work schedule allows.

    That depends. Heavily.

If you look purely at a tire calculator, it will tell you my MT Legend EXP at 275/70r17 are 32.2" diameter. based purely on the size, ignoring tread. But I had a hard time believing it, they're so f'n knobby and aggressive, I knew the actual diameter had to be ¼"-½" bigger.

Tiresize has actuals on everything. . . As you'll see, there's only 0.2" (I assume you got E-rated) or possibly 0.3" difference (if you went C-rated) in overall diameter on our two tires. Tread matters. And I'd argue my Mickeys are more horizontally-aggressive than your KO2s.

And if you went C-rated, I bet your ride feels waaaaay smoother than mine.

And for the record, same story with @KTM_AJ421, his are oversized about 1/3", I guess that's the Mickey M.O. He said he went non-E-rated (smart man, if he's not planning to offroad and needs more comfy paved miles) so this is his tire; he should be a 31.6 based on calculators. He's just shy of a 32":

My DC truck came with some generic 265/70r17's that measure 31.6" and they don't get close to rubbing anywhere.

This weekend I tackled leaking power steering fluid. The first thing I did was remove the reservoir and cleaned it. The inside of the reservoir was so gunked up I couldn't see the fluid level from the outside. I used a few different chemicals to try and clean the tank, but the only one that made any progress was Maxima CleanUp Chain Cleaner that I usually use to clean grime off of my WR250R's o-ring chain. Once cleaned and dried I installed the reservoir along with a new fit suction hose and a trimmed to fit return hose with new hose clamps. The reservoir is still stained so my fresh Dex/Merc ATF looks dark. At least I can see the level!

I thought the vacuum switch was leaking as well, so I replaced it with a plug. The truck also experienced some smoky start ups and I wanted to verify if this vacuum switch was the culprit or not.
    PXL_20240401_134733098~2.jpg

And since I could order Toyota wiper blades from overseas for what Tricos cost at the parts store, I have new Toyota wiper blades on the truck.

Not a lot of extra cash at the moment so I’m finding some small stuff to do to the truck for now. On Saturday I did the Griot’s headlight restoration kit. Mostly was just trying to get the yellow out of the headlights - they weren’t too foggy yet. I think it turned out good. Now I gotta figure out what the deal is with the condensation inside the driver side blinker.

Drill a small hole in the bottom of the assembly and give it a day. It'll clear up

Out with the factory spare, in with the new-used proper upsized flavor. Almost look the same size 265/65r17 vs. 275/70r17 at half tread. Also some frame inspection action, and a grease wipe down on the frame is coming, posting this before hands get nasty….

Pulled my grandparents boat Friday to get it cleaned up and running again to get it sold.

Needs a few things but really just dusty and dirty after sitting indoors for a bit. Ordered a few parts. Anyone got outboard 2 stroke experience? Hoping after replacing rock hard fuel line, a leaking primer bulb and this fuel primer/choke solenoid (pictured below) that it'll run decent again.
    20240329_190555.jpg
If anyone that's localish is looking for a boat hit a guy up. I'm not gonna make up a formal post but it'd be cool to see it go to someone here once I'm done getting it squared away.
    20240219_170802.jpg

Truck pulled it well, as it has for everything I've had to pull with it. Wouldn't mind a few more HP but does the job for the 4 or 5 times a month I pull a trailer.

I just checked my old corners and the oem's have 2x vents on the back. I would try removing the grey rubber vent caps for a day or two before I started poking holes. The vents themselves have some sort of foam/mesh material the may be blocked.

Just leave the hole. Small hole. In the base at the bottom. Drill it and forget it.

Somebody posted a picture of a Bluetooth adaptor for the oem stereo recently but I wasn't able to find it with search or reading the last 5 pages or so. Anybody know what I'm talking about?

I got the old timing belt off. Im 95% sure it's the original. Looks and feels pretty solid for 129k. The only item that looked bad was this pulley.

I dunno I looked up all of those numbers, and none came back to a Toyota/Aisin/Mitsuboshi part.

Ooh that would also help shade my POS highly reflective touchscreen stereo. And plus since mine is woodgrain it’ll probably hold screws way better than your cheap plastic one. ;)

Do it! I honestly was sick of the 3M failing for magnetic mounts. Don’t think it’s strong enough to hold my 12.9 iPad Pro, but it’s a sacrifice I’ll make since I’ve got CarPlay these days lol.
