Let's see your first gen - photo thread

Back from a ~two week road trip out west. Here's a couple favorite pictures I took of the truck.

 

New to me 2006, and one of my brother's 1st Gen Sequoia. Another of my brother's has a 1st Gen Sequoia and an 04 double cab. I'm slowly converting as much of my family to Toyota as possible.

 

Ah! What he's done with heritage strips on the front quarter is exactly what I was looking to do with mine. Both look awesome. Like the paint-matched TRD pro grill.

 

Im not a huge fan of those TRD Pro grills. I want to like them more. Just don’t. Still a T3 fan.

 

Picked up this 03 a few weeks ago for 2500. It has 129k on the clock, but was in a minor front end collision.



Luckily I was able to find the needed body parts from a 2000 being parted out. After spending a day with a come along and my backyard elm tree, I was able to get her relatively straight. Im still waiting on the passenger lights from eBay so we'll see. Further adjustments may be required. I'm currently about halfway through the teardown portion of the timing belt job.



Overall I'm pretty stoked to get this beast up and running.

If by dags you mean dogs, then yes I have 2. Since I'm already copying, I might have to copy your bumper as well. Did you make it yourself?

Those first few pics are basically the same disassembly work you need to do to change the antenna.

Black that bumper out and a few subtle matching gold accents on the truck (front emblem? The Toyota or Tundra badges?) and that truck would be stellar! Looks great.

That chrome bumper needs gold plating.

 

You want a gas guzzling daily driver? Definitely find one with a clean frame.

 

Frame rust, timing belt, lower ball joints.

 

Hey if I drive my 03 really, really conservatively (like 10mph under the speed limit on the highway, on the flat TX coast), I can get 19.5mpg!
