How do you like this awning? I wanted the XTR-71 but they discontinued it. The XTR-143 is a bit long when closed up (7.2ft).

Looking at this truck on FB marketplace:

It's been listed for 7 weeks. Am I not seeing something obvious? It seems like a fair price for a clean truck. Why do you think it's been listed for so long.

I live in Tampa but am seriously playing around with the idea of flying up and driving her home.

I'd pay the few hundred and ask for a Toyo tech to do a full shake down before driving up (I'd do that for any vehicle). That way you know what your in for. Looks legit though.

You could have them send you pics and maybe a video of the undercarriage? Almost 10 years in NH could be rough. (Assuming that's where it has lived)

Not all of the techs even know what they are doing. Most of them don't even drive a Toyota.

Took a nice wet drive up to Diamondback to have my HD installed and take a tour of their factory today. I’m a QC manager for a large construction company, and I was very impressed with their level of QA/QC and how they work together to ensure they deliver a quality product.

Installed the Desert Does It multi panel to mount my E50 Element extinguisher on. There still a lot of room for more stuff on the front and back of the panel.

Not quite sure what your saying besides the (obvious?) fact that some techs arent good techs.. Do you disagree that a full diagnostic and walk through (PPI = pre purchase car inspection) of the truck by a certified Toyota mechanic is not a good idea?

No, it's a good idea if it's a good Toyota tech. It's one of those hit and miss things, kind of like how many go in for an oil change and come out with missing skid plate bolts. I had a "senior technician" tell me that my truck didn't have an alarm on it.

Hooked up the dump trailer today and picked up 2 yards of crushed gravel. Used the truck to fix some erosion issues and tested now they both performed before getting more for the driveway. Loud clunking noise that I'm pretty sure is my stinger moving in the hitch, but other than that, worked like a charm.

Each panel weighs about 50 lbs, so a little over 100 lbs total.

Saturday I installed the AJT trim pieces for the cup holder, shifter, gate and Cavalry Blue steering wheel trim. The trim looks nice but the edges on it are quite pronounced, I wish they were more rounded like the OEM pieces. Along with it, installed the Offroam phone mount.

AJT can not manufacture the steering wheel emblems any longer. Amazon has some that will fit. I have one on my truck and the 4Runner.

Got my two 10 gal tanks (mostly) fabricated today. I purchased a single 10' piece of 4" PVC, intending to make 5' tanks. It wasn't until I got home that I discovered one end of the pipe was a 'bell' end. Well, I ended up 3.5" short, so back to Lowes to find the shortest piece of pipe they got.
20240402_164439.jpg I installed baffles, two per tank, to hopefully mitigate sloshing effects.

Is this just for cleanup/Wash off, or for potable?
Be very careful about using air pressure in PVC to pressurize…especially out in the sun and heat.

Wash. Tootsies, titties, tooshies, and tires. Probably get a Wavian setup for potable. Agreed on pressurizing, I'll be installing a RV style, on-demand pump in a pistol case, and it will hang where the traction boards are now.
