I have done nothing except have National Speed install the supercharger and my LSD. I'm assuming if that wasn't specified in the installation instructions that they did not.

T off your boost gauge line and run it to your fuel rail where the small line from the intake goes. Then take that line from the intake and bent crimp it or if you have a cap take the line off and cap it

Yes, the RTD can write tunes but only if you're a distributor of HP Tuners or somehow in their club. For mere mortals like the rest of us we can't do anything with the RTD besides datalog and upload tunes from people who are part of their network.

And this isn't a secret, everyone I talk to I tell them OTT has access to that ability. If you want OTT to tune your truck you (most likely) aren't buying new hardware. If you want me or someone else, you have a $600 buy in just to access the truck and buy the MPVI. But you can't make your own tune or see what's happening with the RTD which is why people buy the MPVI

Well you can, go with OTT! Or YotaWerx I think has access to the RTD, lots of places do. And those guys certainly know way more than I do and have tons of time on dynos. All depends on what you're looking for.

@NatesNightMare Would you mind snapping a picture of where the other end of that vacuum line is connected to? I don't see any capped bungs on my Mag, only a single brass cap on rear drivers side. Trying to figure the best place to connect the boost gauge to. TIA

Yes that small brass cap is where you use. Take it out and get a nipple. Thats where you would tie in for a boost gauge.

Careful theres been problems with them over tightening that cap and the allen hole will strip. I had to use an extractor to get mine out. Was a pain in the ass

I'm sure this has already been covered, but what is the difference or benefit of connecting this way compared to just running the line from the blower to the gauge? If I were to swap my lines and "boost reference" it would that require any tuning updates? Just curious if I should do this as well or what there is to be gained.

Essentially, without boost reference your 43psi fuel supply gets reduced by each pound of boost, as the fuel pressure relative to the pressure in the cylinders is reduced. If you’re running 10psi of boost into the cylinders that the injectors are feeding when the blower is putting out 10 psi you really only have 33psi of fuel. Boost referencing the fuel pressure regulator keeps the fuel pressure more steady despite the boost pressure.

Mine required some tuning adjustments when I switched over. Aside from the tuning it's a cheap and easy mod and gives you more consistent fuel pressure, so it's worth doing

^ @snivilous is absolutely on point, other then not knowing as much..... Sniv is a tuning boss! Many shops that will send you a remote tune. If you want set it and forget it RTD is a good bet. You can still datalog to double check your parameters after a tune, send back for fine adjustments. Imo MPVI 3 is if you want to personally fumble around with your tune. In my experience self tuning is frustrating and can be maddening but worth it once you get a grasp on how these Tundras run. I like full control. RTD is easier, get a tune, log, adjust, be happy. Just my opinion.

Well I already bought my MPVI3 and credits earlier today. But I am boost referenced now thanks to you all. I figure having the MPVI3 will be a better path for me, especially since I lasted less than 2 weeks before buying more parts to mod

Good call if you like messing around with your tune. MPVI 3 still can be remote tuned, and from there you can adjust what you please...... Not sure though but Im assuming some tuners may lock their tune and some may not...... You want the may nots lol

Yeah I just cant afford getting the mpvi then credit and then a tune. Im rather fine with being able to use what I already have and let the guys that know what they're doing do their thing instead of me putting something in wrong on accident and losing a motor :rofl:.
It was enough putting the SC on myself and hoping everything was good lol

Yeah I figured you were talking about this location on the other side of the blower but thank you for showing me where the other side goes into.
