What a difference with the new suspension and air bags. Leveled the front end. Air Bags definitely made a difference on towing and also adding a Flated camper shell made a world of difference to my truck.

 

Got my oil changed at the dealership (my first mistake, I know), and asked them NOT to perform the headlight recall because I swapped the halogens with LEDs. But they decided to do it anyway.

All lights function as they should. Messaged ihacker, who says the recall mod should not affect anything.

What app are you playing music through that actually loads album art? I listen to Spotify all day every day and have never had a single album art come up on the display.

Good to know, I will look into it. My guess is I have some sort of data-saver option so it doesn't load them.

 

It’s easy, but will likely require an alignment after, so need to budget for that. The splines aren’t clocked the same on the cores used, so steering wheel will be off unless you get lucky. The AJT trim pieces are crap, just paint the original pieces or source the oem version.

 

If you keep the SW locked in the perfectly 12:00 position, just attach new wheel in the same position. No need to get an alignment. The splines are pretty course on the steering shaft. If you are off 1 spline, you will definitely notice that the wheel is " off" and needs to be moved 1 spline left or right.

Doing it this way also eliminates over extending the ribbon cable.

 

Of course, but nope. The splines are clocked differently on the core, others have same results.

Takes longer to wait for the airbag circuit to be discharged after pulling the negative battery cable…

 

My wheel (same one) was clocked the same as my factory wheel.
Maybe I just got lucky…

I can see where they could be off kilter though, since the spline socket is a press-in bushing in the wheel core, so if they aren’t consistently jigging the wheel core and spline bushing when mating those parts up, that could cause minor shifts in the wheel clocking from wheel to wheel.

The "album art" in that photo was the stock "ROCK" image. I haven't had it load any album cover art on my '16, using spotify, plex, apple, Amazon. If the artist matches to what they have stored, it shows it, but usually WAY outdated.

Tuff Country rear leveling kit installed by local shop. Total nightmare. I just wanted a simple add-a-leaf installed to level the rear since the Leer topper and Decked system added a ton of weight and caused a slight squat.

They quoted me $200 to do it Monday afternoon.

A couple of hours later, the guy calls me at work and says they have the leaves in but that the factory U-bolts aren't long enough. OK, odd that Tuff Country didn't mention that or included them in the kit. Shop doesn't have any and neither does anyone local. I go online and order a 2" lift block kit with U-bolts for $40. I tell the shop that the new bolts and blocks will be here Thursday and I'll drop them off before I leave for work at 1pm.

The blocks and U-bolts arrived and I stop by the shop to drop off the parts. There is a sign on the door saying they closed early. I put the parts in my pickup, which is sitting outside, call the shop number and leave a voicemail.

Shop called this morning and said they have the parts, but to put in the 2" blocks will require more hours and they won't have time to get to it until next week, and the block kit says you need a brake line relocation kit, which is also not included. WTF?? I need my truck this weekend to meet the family at the cabin for Easter and the grandkids want to ride the ATV. So I tell him to just put the longer U-bolts on and get it drivable. He gets it done and I go to pick it up and the bill is nearly $400!

I specifically paid a shop to do it so I could avoid a headache and have it ready for towing by the weekend. For what I ended up paying in parts and labor, I could have bought a Firestone air-bag system and installed it myself for much less stress.

So, it is done, it rides fine, and it will do for hauling the utility trailer. But I will avoid Tuff Country products in the future due to their deceptive advertising and incomplete kits.

 

I thinks it’s important to note, that ubolts are a stretch to torque style bolt and should be replaced.

 

Make sure I’m following but you wanted an add a leaf but then added blocks in as well?

 

With the add a leaf, it leveled it out, but since I plan on doing some towing, I figured a shorter block would give enough rake to level it when towing. I'm glad the blocks didn't work out since I'll likely add air bags this summer.

 

Been trying to find a place to mount my gas cans and they end up beside my spare each time so I bought the mount kit for the spare. Works for me

 

One of these console things and a Veepeak BLE + OBDFusion app for trans temps when towing. Less than $100 for both. Don’t know why I waited so long for either…
