$600 is a good deal...for any modern vehicle. The local Safelite location charges $300 just to "recalibrate" the safety/LTA camera that sits next to the rearview mirror. The cost of the windshield is on top of that.

TRD Air Filters, Front door windows tinted to match the rears. Wheel locks, Talons Garage cat shield, Tyger Automotive soft tonneau cover, WeatherTech floor mats with Tuff Skinz Custom Emblem kit, Toyota OEM Emblem Black Out kit. AVS vent covers on all four doors, Red Tundra letters on front bumper & TRD highlighted in Red on front grille. Tailgate Tundra Letters in Black.
Ya that would be my luck!

Especially here in Ohio they don’t mandate mudflaps so even a chunk of road salt at 70 mph is dangerous to windshields.

Being so new I’d ask to see price difference for oem and non oem.
Satellite is what I have used in the past but it sounds ticky tacky but I would want it to say Toyota on the glass just because the truck is so new.

I've replaced windshields before through insurance, run it as comprehensive (not collision), and it doesn't count as a claim or increase your rate. I have a $0 deductible as well, $500 for collision. Just a thought, good luck with the repairs.

Does the OEM glass have the tint strip at the top of the windshield? Back in February Safelite showed up to replace my windshield and had just plain clear glass (no tint strip) saying that Toyota messed up with the part number so I turned them away as my claim is covering for OEM glass. Finally they are coming back out tomorrow now with hopefully the correct piece of glass but they cannot confirm any details on the features of the glass other than they ordered OEM glass from Toyota. They also said no recalibration is necessary for my 2016 limited CM?

For sure that’s why I got the glass protection package factored into my loan when living in Colorado. It’s actually seen more damage driving on I-5 in Washington though compared to the gravel they put down on the roads in Colorado during the winter…

I had my windshield replaced under my insurance policy. I scheduled an appointment and they were ready to replace it, but I asked if the windshield was OEM. They said no, so I asked them to order an OEM windshield for my truck and rescheduled the appointment. I paid the deductible and everything is done now.

America is so greedy as a whole. WTF, are those lifetime wipers for $70. I would say that I dont know how some companies stay open but there are some people out there with more money than brains.

I used to think the same about Safelite.

I live in rural California, so not too many options for me. I took my Tacoma to the highest rated independent glass place in town and they didn't use OEM glass and the install was subpar, with excess adhesive showing. The glass was distorted around the edges and I had to clean excess residue off with alcohol wipes. It was a $500 deductible.

On my Tundra, I decided to drive a bit further and give Safelite a try. It was a way better experience. They used OEM glass and there was no leftover residue. They went out of their way to to keep the interior and dash clean during the install. It was a $500 deductible.

Just sharing my experience. I'll be using Safelite for future windshields.

OEM. Has the Toyota logo on the driver's side and "Toyota Trucks" with a mountain logo on the passenger side.

The dollar bill is the measure of whether it could possibly be repaired. Longer than a dollar bill is an automatic replacement.

For all the insurance talk - everyone has had rates skyrocket. I went from Progressive to State Farm just last fall. As soon as those bastards send the next rate increase, I am off to the next. I do this every couple of years. I hate every one of of those soul suckin’, wallet stealing’ sons a bitches. Don’t get me started on my health insurance premiums. If anyone ever wanted to spiral into depression, add up your total insurance bill (include what your employer pays for you as well, which isn’t going in your pocket).

I just got a crack in my windshield, just had it replaced in October. Bummer.
