Oh and my best worst automtive things ive heard.
BMW driver to me: your cars not even german, me driving a Karmann built 93 Corrado

3000GTs didnt have a VR4 they all had VR6 engines and the AWS was a myth, they never made a GTO model

Turbos are more efficient without an intercooler, less pipe to travel through

Drums are better for towing, why do you think semis still use them.

Why would the dealership lie about a 10,000 mile oil change. You dont think they know what theyre talking about?

You really think the government and big oil killed those water car inventors?

Tire direction doesn't effect tire wear. Speaking in regards to drectional tire mounting, a tech at a tire shop told me that one. Never went back, shame too cause they were only 15 a tire.

You dont need a fuel map to run 110, it'll make more power cause it is a high octane naturally

That’s uh… well.. I think Einstein said it best: only two things are infinite, the universe and human stupidity; and I’m not sure about the universe.

John Wayne summed it up pretty well too. Life’s hard, it’s harder if you’re stupid.

On the aforementioned note I think the dumbest thing car related I have ever heard is the idiot that told me that they “drive better drunk”

Now this thread has turned into absolute gold! It was doomed with the OP but everyone else has really made this shine!

If I lower muh truck to run 35” MT’S but switch to synthetic gear oil with balance beads I won’t rub right? Or should I just run 37” AT’s?

Damn it... I play in an 8-ball league tonight, and currently in contention for getting a cheesy little MVP trophy this session so I could use any possible advantage, but I'm 25 years sober.

    What a conundrum.

I've never heard the tread refered to a lugs prior to this thread. I've heard em called nubs, though.

When I bought my first 2nd Gen Tacoma back in 2011 the salesman no joke looked me dead in the eye, slammed it from D to 4, and said “this is the more power mode!” Haven’t forgotten it to this day haha. He really thought that’d sell it!

    ATs are useless.
Street tires are better off-road and in snow than ATs.

Personally, I find ATs to be perfect for most things, with the few exceptions not occuring enough for a different tire to really be worth it. ATs are a great all season, all terrain tire. They leave some to be desired in mud, but I only go through mud like 20% of the time while offroading, which equates to less than 1% of the time I use the tires haha

Got a damn good one at my last complimentary service. Wife took it in. The service guy actually told her the "spare tire tread is getting low". Ok, sooo the spare tire on a truck with 10k miles, a tire that has yet to touch pavement is low on tread? I took a look in case someone pulled a fast on me...nope, brand new. How ridiculous are these dealer/service guys?

Might as well stick a pin in this thread, it ain't going nowhere.
