Edit: The rear main has been leaking for years. I just figure it's time to do it and do it all right.

The RAV4 started leaking oil again. It's been a few years since it leaked enough to hit the ground. Previously I got it to stop by using Mobile 1 high mileage. Supposedly it has a conditioner for the gaskets. It was the rear main back then so I assume that's where it is again. I can't tell.

It's fairly minor so I have no plans to fix it yet.

Just use the regular oil and add BG MOA at every oil change. No need to buy "high mileage" labeled oils.

Put a new air filter in and reset the oil change light, reset ecu while my rear diff drained, im probably at 7-800miles after gears were installed. Coming out mid stream it didn’t look to bad. Magnet had the very fine anti seize coating on it but no big chunks. I put Lucas Dino 80/90 in.
Pretty cool Rorschach type design in the oil pan when I was finished

You keep drawing me into this thread with your music related posts (even though I own a 2.5 gen). I had the Red Hots t-shirt with the band wearing only tube socks -- nothing on their feet.

The Descendents link was the other one.

ETA: I get your question now. It was not the Abbey Road pic on the t-shirt, but them standing side-by-side, dressed like the AR pic.

Eh, they're covered, I think it's safe. If not, hopefully the mods will be cool and just delete it.

Tell me about it the kid I sold it to, minus the turbo kit, hit it with his snow plow. He bought it from me because it was faster than his "unbeatable" Predator edition Monte Carlo. I dog walked him and never even got in full boost. From that day on he begged me to sell him that car. I ended up selling it but didnt tell him. He seen it for sale like 2 years later and brought me what I was asking in cash. He was pissed when he realized the turbo kit had been sold seperate lol. Fuck that kid.

Behind the dash, going up the pillar there is a wire loom that carries current to the done, map, cargo and stop lamp. The red with black stripe is the cargo light power and white with black stripe is the ground. That's where I tied into it. You can also find this same circuit behind the radio / HVAC bezel going into the bezel for the cargo light switch.
