Haha pre-covid they made you wash and return them. Now they just ask for pictures of the damage, when you bought them (no receipt needed) and fill out their online form and then throw them away. I take a picture of them when I get new socks so it shows what model of sock and when I bought them. Keep a ‘sock album’ on my phone lol but it makes it easy for warranty.

Three items were on back order, in a previous email he itemized them and their ETA. The final ETA was the 19th. So it took em a week to get their shit together or stuff showed up a little late. Fine with me. Just get it out ASAP and answer my emails. That's all I ask.i was pissed they ignored two emails. They had all day Friday and Monday to answer my first one and half of today to answer my second one.

And just to add... To those who've said I should've demanded this or that and been pissed etc... i get that position and I even wanted to act that way too. But that's the old me. I've been trying for about 2 years to better control my anger.

I want you to know we have parts here at the North Park dealerships that are listed as "back order" but they are set aside for some reason....not entirely sure, some guys are allowed to sell them and the whole sale guys are not

Tundra at the dealer today. Oil and another round of airbag light diag. Since I decided to do that, figured I’ll put myself on the hook for diff & TC fluids before replacing the skids.

Yeah. I know it's hard (even for me, at an older age) to pick up a phone and put a voice to the name/order/whatever, but it makes a difference. e-comms suck!

You did right, don't let anyone give you hell. I sometimes piss off my better-3/4 because I hold me temper when people are doing stupid shit. I've found one too many times, if you really give someone hell, a lot of people can make things even more miserable. Sometimes it's better just to say to yourself, "Well hot damn, this was a shit experience with some incompetent f-wads" and move on. And we've all had those experiences, too. With good and bad vendors. You never know when you're gonna be the one dropped in the cracks. When it happens, how you handle it says a lot about you.

Have you tried replacing the SRS ECU yet?

I am on my 4th/5th pair of these. They are heavy AF and the soles seem to delam in about 1.5yrs every time. But the most comfortable/out of the box, protective thing I think I've ever had on my (little) foot.
I have gone through several pairs of the DarnTough, warrantied a couple, but with shipping it's basically the same as buying another pair at full price (according to my little lady anyway) They do last a LONG time though, and are comfortable and warm.

I tried IRISH SETTER BY RED WING ELY 83618 STEEL TOE and they are the most uncomfortable pieces of shit

I thankfully don’t have to wear steel toe at work, and I’m kinda like you, if it’s comfy I’ll beat the piss out of them and just replace them every year or whatever. I’ve been thru maybe 4 pair of a hiking boot I can’t remember*
And now 4 pair of a boot called hawx. They are super comfortable with a gimmicky air sole, but I like them.
I’ve never oiled any of my boots and never had a problem, but my fat feet bust out the seams at the toe cup sooner or later, and they’ve said it’s because I didn’t oil them enough.

I just wear my US made Dunham construction boots I bought in 1992. I’ve had the soles glued back on 3 times already after drying out and separating over the years. Need a regluing on the right boot once again.

Can’t find many today that go up as high as my Dunhams unfortunately or as good of a build quality. I’ve tried Redwings but I don’t find them as comfortable. I’ve been told you need to break them in first though.

Yeah, old fart once told me soak them in water, put them on, wear them until they dry. I have never done that though.
I have slathered a lot of Obenaufs on them. Sometimes I think treating them has sped up the delamination from the sole though.

It's relative. When you look at the vast majority of what's for sale, average mileage in my area is in the 250k-350k range. Sometimes higher.
