might not be too late to get it filled go to your local auto glass place and ask, but don't wait do it before it spreads it looks like its right at the limit for being filled. Literally just had my windshield filled in last week from a crack I got from a rock chip. Was $50.00 which is way better than new windshield. I can barely see it after it was filled, but its not in my line of vision so don't really care and your is passenger side so.... Hurry though time is of the essence.

The longer you wait the higher the likelihood the crack will grow.

Yea try repairing first, new windshields cost wayyyy too much, especially ones from a new model like yours

I would never use safelite because your local shop will always be better price wise but you can get a quote from Safelite online and this is what they want for a new windshield and I believe that is aftermarket and not OEM and likely won't be acoustic glass like your 1794 has (like look they charge $70.00 to replace your wiper blades!!!!) Don't got to safelite but here is an idea and did I mention?? you need to hurry and get it fixed..

This is exactly why I think windshield replacement coverage on my insurance is worth the extra cost.

They get worse. My wife’s 2003 MDX windshield was $1300. In 2005 dollars. Can’t imagine what some of these new electronic gadget bearing windshields must cost.

Filling it is pointless. It's already cracked. Most shops won't even waste time filling it because it is cracked already.

Same as you, 10 days and a lug nut lower left corner. Fortunately smaller than a quarter so it could be injected with cement to stop spreading. However, most of us have sounded deadening glass which is extra layers and the glue doesn’t penetrate to the bottom shattered layers so the repair is not totally invisible or 100% effective. Sorry you’re gonna need a new one. Be sure whoever you choose uses sound deadening glass. There’s an obvious difference on the Hwy.

That’s in the side windows. Pretty sure Limited and up have it in the windshields. My 2016 Taco had it. Quite common now in windshields. Those acoustic side windows don’t cost that much more. If I ever need to replace one I’ll be doing it.

I just had my wife's replaced through insurance. One question I found interesting was "can the damage be covered by a dollar bill?"

Not sure what the different responses dictate for an approach, but my No got the replacement covered at no cost.

Yep, all these fancy windshields with the logo easter eggs in them like the OEM Tundra. They cost around 1k to replace so your deductible will come into play which could be $125 to $500 bucks depending on what that is. F150 windshields are cheap and always have been $150 dollar windshield.

Don’t you guys have full coverage on these things? We literally just drop ours off, or they come to us. maybe flash our insurance card and waaalaa. It’s all included.

True they don't some have windshield coverage separate and some just include it in the deductible for collision coverage. My insurance company switched off windshield coverage years ago, but they do pay for fills. I have an ACV (actual cash value) policy though so if I get in a wreck with a 70k truck they pay ACV for it and won't just leave it in a body shop for months fixing it and pouring 40-50k into fixing a truck which should be totaled.

Bummer. Once it reaches the edge or the crack is longer than 6", I am 99% sure no shop will fill it. It'll be a full replacement at that point.

The one (& only thing) I really miss about the "big" insurance companies like Geico and Progressive are their windshield coverages. Makes it very easy to either get a fill or replacement. We switched to Shelter with our local agent a while ago. Much cheaper with all of our policies in one place, but they don't offer separate glass policy/coverage. It's just lumped in with the collision. When it's setup like that, I believe a glass claim is treated the same as any other collision claim (since it falls under the collision coverage), so it can really hit you at renewal. I might be wrong though. I need to ask our local agent.

We just dropped Shelter and switched to Progressive....much, much cheaper. Had our house, two vehicles, and a boat insured with them....Shelter agent never even called to ask what happened to our policies.

Funny you say that. I saved $500 on my premium switching from Progressive to Shelter. No accidents, tickets, or changes whatsoever on our end but Progressive jumped our 6 month premium by nearly 40% claiming it was a “market rate” adjustment.

I’m glad you’re enjoying Progressive. It’ll be a very long time before I’ll consider doing business with them again. Everyone’s situation is different.

Progressive and geico were nuts for us. We ditched them and got a local company. We pay less for for full coverage on two vehicles, a trailer, and soon one will be under a commercial policy.. than we did for just coverage on my truck alone with the other two. We also bundle with home. Last time I dropped my truck off for a new windshield the guy asked who we have, I told him and he said hell I don’t even have to call them.

Nationwide has played me the same way. Have been a customer with them for about 15 yrs.
No tickets or accidents. Price hike of 40% also. May go with Progressive. The Jerry app is great to get several quotes.

Everyone has glass insurance if your Comp is low enough to justify using it.

Sucks OP. I think it’s trash. Replace it with good glass and enjoy your new Tundra!
