I'll be purchasing a Smartcap this week and am having a hard time deciding between the Sport and the Adventure. Right now I'm leaning towards the Adventure, I don't really need the side windows and its one less thing to go wrong down the road. For those with the Smartcap, which one did you go with? Do you regret going with the model you did vs the other? Thanks in advance.

I've been shopping around and having the same debate. I would like having the windows for camping trips. (The plan is to build a bed for kids in the back and a RTT on the smart cap).
But besides camping the windows seem like their only other function would be to left thieves access your stuff more easily.
I decided if I go with the smart cap over a drop in camper, I'm going without windows.

You might also post this in the General Tundra Talk or Tonneau Covers, Caps and Shells areas of the forum. You'll probably get more replies in either section. I think I've only seen a couple of 3rd Gen owners with SmartCaps so far.

I initially wanted a SmartCap, but decided to go a different direction.

What did you end up going with?

I really wish OVS would release their shell for the 6.5 ft bed! The price is too good to pass up!

I had one for my taco and I swapped one side with another owner. Best of both worlds. On the adventure side I added a molle to mount items and I had a window on the other side for my pup to stick his head out

Same here. Waiting on that OVS cap. Liking the price and no side windows… Would hate to have a break in and replace it.

If your in Ohio, there’s a guy selling a used GFC topper for good price

I have emailed OVS via the contact page several times with no response in regards to the release date. Unfortunately for me I need something before the week of 2.19 (listed on their website).

If I wasn't so far from Cleveland I'd be all over that GFC, great deal for someone.

I ended up going with the Adventure, supposed to arrive today. I hope mine has the new locks too. Appreciate all the feed back on this.

I’m leaning towards adventure. Mostly because I’ll have working dogs back there.

Their website lists dealers that you can choose to order from. You can order it to be delivered to your home and build and install yourself of order through a cap store and have them do the work.

The sport version is the one with windows. The adventure has solid doors.

I want to camp in the back of it, any water ingress issues with those who are running this top? I'll go with the sport one.

You in Canada? Says up north on your sig. call Capit. They are the dealer. That’s probably pretty good if in Canada.

If you are in the Anchorage/Mat Valley area, Distinctive Ride in Wasilla is a very good shop to work with.
