NEED HELP with TRD Skid Plate Upgrade with ReadyLift TRD pro plus-2 skid plate adaptor kit #67-5443

Not sure if this is the correct place for this post. I’ve done a search for the above and comes up with nothing. Anyone have any experience with using the ReadyLift Tundra TRD Pro Plus-2 skid plate adaptor kit #

$60 67-5443 TRD Pro Skid Plate Adapter Kit

67-5443? This is the adapter kit used when upgrading to the TRD skid plate from the stock skid plate with a 3/2 lift on your truck. I have the 3/2 lift on my truck so this is the spacer kit and for the life of me I can’t figure out exactly which spacer goes where. I can get close but I can’t afford the down and under and back and forth in and out of figuring it out, I’m 62 yrs old. OFCOURSE there are ZERO instructions with the hardware and it’s the main complaint on there website reviews. The most I can come up with on a web/youtube search is you’ll need “extra hardware” but nowhere does it state what extra hardware is needed. If anyone has any experience with this adaptor kit could you please chime in and let a guy know what’s needed to get the install done or direct me to some instructions, I’d really appreciate it. TIA

 

The spacers get placed between the skid plate and the truck frame. The bolts go through the plate, spacer, and into the frame.

 

This is obvious as the stock skid plate has spacers also. I’m sorry @2mchfun I should’ve been more specific, I’m not going back with the stock skid plate, I upgraded to the TRD skid plate and bought the ReadyLift adaptor kit to compensate for the lift. I’ll add that important piece of information in my original post. There are different size width and length spacers and bolts is the problem. And no instructions as to which are which. The way I have it figured out with what’s included there isn’t enough spacers to add the extra length needed to compensate for the 3/2 lift.

 

It seems like you should try to change your thread title to something like "Need help with TRD skid plate Ready Lift spacer kit". Then maybe someone who has one will be more likely to chime in. Good luck!

 

So I did this job on my 2018 that's got the 3/2 lift, and I used the same adapter kit. Upload pictures of the hardware and I can tell you where each one goes. A buddy and I both figured it through trial and error and deduction.

 

Thanks @Red&03Taco that would be great if you could. I took pics and wrote numbers to maybe help match up what goes to what. I know where the black square angled shims go. Don’t know why they included all the allen wrench’s? Thank you if you can help me make sense of this I appreciate it!

Ok so here's how I did it and it came out great:

1) Hardware #1 into Skid plate holes #2

2) Hardware #4 into Skid plate holes #6
- 2 of the #6 spacers will go here between the skid plate and the frame

3) Hardware #2 into the corner-most hole up front that you missed numbering. (Must remove tow hooks, then skid plate fits between tow hooks and frame with those two hole spacer blocks above the skid plate).

4) Hardware #5 goes into Skid plate hole #5 (don't use the square block spacer you currently have pictured at the #5 location).

5) Hardware #3 should go through skid plate holes #1 and I did use the black wedge angle shims on the top side of the frame that those bolts feed through. I believe the remaining (2) #6 spacers may be designed to go here, below the frame, but my friend helping me insisted we just snug it up to the frame bottom with no spacers and let the plate angle up (when looking at it from front to back), it came out fine that way, but I think technically that's where those last two spacers should go. I just saved them in my random hardware bin for now.

*I'd suggest using a floor jack to hold the plate up while you secure the front tow hooks and #6 holes. Then it can dangle from those bolts (leave them loose) and you can work you're way back.

Yes I forgot the tow hook spacers, I kind of figured that’s where they would probably go so thanks for confirming that for me. Thank you man, this is what makes these forums what they are! I wasn’t sure about tossing the square for the jack point so thanks for clarifying that too! I’m going to go give it a shot with no help, wish me luck. Going to drive up on front ramps and get out the floor jack and my creeper!

Don't forget to retork the bolts after a few 100 miles to avoid creaking.

 

I'm glad this thread was recently created. I bought a used TRD skid plate for $250 over the weekend and didn't realize I was going to need the readylift kit since I have a diff drop.
