Aren’t our trucks amazing?

You can go anywhere you want in any conditions you want. It handles mud and scratches and dents and rain and snow and sand just keeps going. Maintenance is minimal (certainly for a short rugged trip needing only fuel).

Pretty remarkable considering where people were at only 70 years ago. Hell, I can even be in 4LO driving across a river with water coming in under the doors and still not miss a live episode of Sportscenter on my screen.

Add a winch and you can’t even get stuck on street tires - unless you have nothing to winch to You can put a literal half ton of gear in the bed and still have room to bring people with you.

I’ve seen this truck make it through the toughest of stuff time and time again. Every time I get to an increased level quagmire I find myself questioning “Am I sure?” which makes me sad. There’s no reason to doubt these trucks at all - imagine driving a Ford in a rural area without cell service LOL

I use to trust my Ford in rural areas, but I don't feel the same way about the newer ones.

Woke up to this the morning after a blizzard. The Ford started and got me home (had to put tire chains on)

 

Absolutely love mine, I hope it proves to be as reliable as my 2011 SR5 was. So far so good.

Mine had manual locking hubs, big lever for 4wd, another big lever to change gears, and 460 cu. in. V8

The difference between my ‘23 Platinum & my ‘65 W200 Power Wagon is mind boggling.

 

Got my first ride in 72. 57 Dodge 4X4 step side. My dad bought it for $250. Tough as railroad spikes. AM radio was iffy. Should have kept it. Beats anything out there now.

Ah, but the FM converter mounted below the dash took care of that.

 

Ha! My first truck had the original AM radio. I had an 8-track given to me so I put that in. I bought an adapter so I could play cassettes. Now it’s Bluetooth and satellites. Good times…

 

i had the 8 track converter, I could put tapes in my 8 track.

 

Thinking about ditching my problem free f350 for a 24 sr5trd.... you guys aren't helping.

Per the payload sticker on the door of my Tundra, I should probably be in an F350. I'm hard pressed to sell a perfectly good truck that I finally have set up the way I like for one that could potentially have more issues and costs a heck of a lot more, though.

 

Thus my dilemma... need and want are different. Just want something more comfortable and with electric windows. Thanks for your input. I was going to ask in another thread but just hijacked this one

I would like to see more commercials on TV about the Tundra. Don't think I have seen any. All I see are F150 and GMC/Chevrolet truck commercials. I suppose if demand is high and your brand is successful like our Tundra, no need to pay to advertise with commercials. Still, seeing Tundra's like Eurodriver splashing through mud would be fun to see.

Our trucks are comfortable and the modern technology is convenient, but I still enjoy driving this ol' girl on occasion.

Manual transmission and t-case with shifters for both, manual locking front hubs, AM/FM radio only, locking differentials, AMC 360 V8 engine, and will go places my Tundra can't.
