another thing, I don't think the non-hybrid trans and rear is rated for anything near another 80lbs of torque, let alone at the wheels

this seem suspect to me, the AWR10L65 rating is 650nm (479 ft/lbs.) and the hybrid already has a larger rear since it has more torque than the non-hybrid.

seems like a recipe for boom on the non hybrid, assuming its actually putting out what they say

Thanks for the tag! Happy to answer any questions you guys have about this module. You get nearly 100hp gains @ the flywheel and 80 ft/lbs of torque at the wheels, all from plugging in a small tuning box. And the best part = you unplug it and there is no trace of it ever being there. So you don't have to worry about your warranty when you take the truck to the dealer for service. Every dealership is different regarding what will and won't void your warranty, so we always recommend removing it beforehand just in case.

This tuning box will be on sale through the end of the month, so you guys have just over a week left to get it ordered for $551.65.

Hi Brianna, I have the True Control in hand but the paperwork makes no reference to what each map does or octane requirements, also it says in the video that info and updates are available on your website. I've been there several times and don't see any links or downloads for updates or map level fuel requirements. Can you help me with this here or should I reach out directly?

Hey Jettster, happy to guide you on this. My apologies if the site isn't clear enough.

You have maps 1-7, 7 being the most powerful. We recommend 91 oct+ when using the TruControl, for any of the maps. If you're running 87 or 89, don't go past map 4.

When you mention "updates", do you mean when adding other parts to the truck? The TruControl will adjust for simple additions such as an intake or catback exhaust, but if you're adding things like downpipes or anything that may change the A/F ratio, you'll want to reach out to us so we can recalibrate it.

    Thanks!

thanks Brianna I'll be running 93 only...get a dyno run on tru-control with baseline, add exhaust, and add intakes, post on YouTube ASAP with real results and you'll have no problem filling your pipeline of orders. From what I can see so far you just have separate videos on tru-control and exhaust...your exhaust looks like it has potential but at stock boost minimal gains as there just isn't much restriction...once you get the intakes ready for production add those results and if strong get ready for back orders lol...

$551.65 is a great deal for this tuner, what other mods will give you 100 hp for $550? ;) but I will also offer free delivery for my fellow forum members!

care to comment on how the following was taken into consideration.

    1) transmission rating-AWR10L65 rating is 650nm (479 ft/lbs.)

    2) the hybrid already has a larger rear since it has more torque than the non-hybrid, how is this much more torque at the wheels going to be handle on the smaller non-hybrid stock rear

Of course. I won't get too technical here because I myself am not the tune developer. The vehicle's parameters are "safe bets" and are not actually the max it can tolerate. It's probably more ~90% of what it can tolerate. We develop our tune to extract the most out of the engine safely, in a way that will never pose a risk to the driveline. We take up a bit of that extra ~10%. During development, we carefully monitor all "vitals" from the engine and trans and make sure that everything checks out over long periods of time and different types of activity (idle, normal driving, dyno runs, etc)

As with any modification, if you don't feel comfortable installing it on your truck, that's totally ok! But that doesn't mean it's not awesome or doesn't work :D

Edit: And both the hybrid and non-hybrid models went through development, and tune is safe for both.

I have the TruControl and exhaust. They are good products. With the TruControl I definitely feel the power on 87 octane. I have not run 91 or 93 octane yet. Cons: I wanted more from the app and I wish their octane information was better and more upfront.

80 lbs more at the wheels is a hell of a lot more than 10%.

how many miles was this tested?

perhaps the developers can pop on here if you didn't want to get more technical, I understand that.

what is the warranty from Stillen? or is this a blow up your trans or rear end, "take it off to maintain your factory warranty" and then hope toyota covers it under the 60K OEM powertrain?

this is so misleading on your website

"Here's even better news - the TruControl by STILLEN Inline Power Module won't void your factory warranty! As long as you remove the product before visiting the dealership for service, your warranty remains intact."

so it only doesnt void it if you take it off before you go in? lol.

This is more of a precaution. Some dealers will void warranty for anything they see - I know a service advisor who got a customer's warranty voided once because he found photo evidence that the customer took the truck to Glamis.

The tuning software is developed and tested extensively by some of the best out there. We do not have a warranty that covers the end customer's vehicle. That said, we have hundreds if not thousands of these units out nationwide and no issues. We attribute this to our thorough preliminary testing and development.

In the end, tuning is just not for everyone. For those that like to stick with intakes, catbacks, and exterior mods, we are more than happy to help with those too!

Any appreciable difference in 91 vs 93 octane for those of us in less restrictive states?
I’ll take you up on that, do I need to call/send email to solidify? Also need to see if 93 octane tune available since we don’t have 91 in Texas (or at least my area that is)

I have not as I don't want to change the manufacturers setting and specs. Don't see how that could be a good things to do. Plus think the truck performs very well as is...... Kid
