Why didn’t you buy a Prius or Corolla if you were worried about fuel mileage? It’s freaking truck what did you expect? There are a million threads of people whining about fuel mileage they should all be deleted.

SD, yes I think something seems amiss. I have the same truck and get on average between 17 and 21. In tow mode more like 14 to 16. Do you have a cover on the back? The air dam comes down when driving ?

I realized almost a 2 mpg increase driving the same routes when I switched to non-ethanol fuel. My truck seems to run better on it, too.

I know that's not an option everywhere, but I make a point of filling up whenever I see a non-ethanol pump.

Thanks Ryan I did not know this and was wondering why I was seeing higher mileage when I accidentally forgot to switch to ECO. ECO on the highway only.
    Very helpful & Thank you

Id try normal mode vs eco. Never found eco to be more mpg friendly.

It would improve if you drove a maverick or a tacoma.

10mpg city here. Idling and waiting on traffic lights kills milage fast. Highway isn't bad... 20mpg if I drive 55 which I never do, 17mpg when driving 80s.
    All stock...

Look at the bright side, winter blend fuel is ending so everyone will start seeing improvements in their MPGs!

So I did a test yesterday and my results are interesting. I drive 25 miles one way to work so it's a 50 mile trip. Going into work I got 18.7mpg and going home I got 19.2mpg. My truck is a 2024 Platinum Hybrid with the TRD lift, 6.5ft bed and 35 inch tires. Truck has 1100 miles on it. Drove in Eco mode and most of the driving was below 55mph and it was more city than hwy.

When driving in Eco mode I noticed that if you let off the gas slightly once you reach your traveling speed the truck switches over to battery power and stays in battery power until you press the gas slightly harder.

OP, I think you might have a problem since your MPG is significantly lower.

yeah I have been getting 16-18 since I have had the truck and I run large tires. Larger tires get less mpg but it also depends on how you drive it.

I have a company provided truck as a benefit. It is a 2020 Chevy Silverado 2.7L turbo. Yep a 4 cylinder turbo. I bought a house further away (thank you high interest rates & prices). Since I'm doing more flat highway driving in Florida with a bit of heavy traffic, this one wheel drive crew cab, stock is now averaging 21.5 mpg. Not bad considering I am not light on the accelerator and run between 75 and 80mph on the highway. I have some tools and a ladder in the bed and am mostly by myself in it and I'm over 250lbs.

I bet lifting it and putting giant heavy tires would drop that considerably because I'd always be in boost due to the smaller motor not having the ability to run without it.

My stock 2018 Tundra 4x4 gets in the high 17s in the same driving. It drops quite a bit in the heavy traffic areas though.

Edit: I just got gas for the 2018 Tundra. Last tank averaged 15.4 mpg by hand calculation.
