600/650 vs 700 springs.

    Before you read this, my truck is a 2WD, remember that.
    So, I recently bought Fox 2.5 Performance Elite DSC and installed them. I adjusted the drivers side collar to be 1/2 from top and pass. adjusted all the way to the top. Now according to my calculations I am at 2 1/4 lift, 1/4" over the max 2" lift. Mine are 0-2 lift CO. The truck rides way better to me over the 6112/5160. Now I am OCD and can't get it out of my mind that I should get the 600lb springs and put the collar back the way Fox shipped them, 1" driver side and 1/2" pass side. This in theory, should put me at 2" lift, making the CO ride in the correct travel zone. Also giving me a bit more plush ride, which I wouldn't mind. I spoke to Fox and they said that I can try a 600-650lb spring to get me in that travel zone and get a more plush ride. And before anyone mentions it, yes I talked to Accutune. They have zero experience with dealing with 2wd setups. The only thing they told me was that for the Fox 2.5 PE 0-3, they change out the spring from a 17/700lb to a 18/500 spring for the 4wd. So has anyone done this or has advice on this. In the end it's only $220 and a couple of hours of work.

    Have you put many miles on the setup? Even driving it around the block once, springs will settle in to place. They will usually settle a little more over the next 1000 miles.

    However, if you are thinking about changing the coils out, it’s typically not difficult. Like you said, $220 and a couple hours. It would be worth it to me to try out a different setup just to see. Considering the price of the CO’s, $220 isn’t much to make a hopefully decent improvement to your ride.

    I have had them on since Saturday. Even took them off-road to make sure everything was good. I have heard different opinions on settling. For the most part the 1/4 is only part of my reasoning to change them out. Like I said, if it, which it should, gets me a more plush ride then it's a win. Plus yeah considering the cost of the CO, even though I got a smoking deal, coils are cheap.

    2WD guys got it easy like that. No CV axle to fight with means all of 7 bolts per side if you separate the LCA and the thing practically leaps out of the truck for you…

    Springs should be in this weekend and I will swap them out. Yes, it's very easy to get the CO out. I can have both CO out in about 45 minutes.

    Well, did my 600lb spring swap. Good thing I decided to give the 600lb springs a try. On-road comfort is now 1000% better than the 6112. It was also a noticable difference from the 700lb that came on the Fox to the now 600lb. So now that I am what seems like one of the very few that has gone from 700 to 600 springs, I can say 600lb springs is the way to go if you have no added weight to the front of the truck.

    I have the 0-2". I don't think 18" springs would fit. Accutune uses 18" 500 for the Fox 0-3 extended length CO. But those bring 17", mine are 16"
