Random jerking when towing a less then 2000 lbs boat and trailer. First time towing with this truck. Truck runs great otherwise. Anyone has experience this?

Check the trailer axle(s) as a bent one can cause surging/perking.

Try towing with a different vehicle to see if it persists.

Was it the transmission jumping back and forth in gears ?? Does it have the tow/haul button ? Under a steady throttle ?? A little more detail would help tremendously...

This is is great! But in all seriousness I had that happen when I was towing some heavy equipment from a local rental place. I needed the equipment a handful of times so there were two different trailers I would use. The one trailer was butter smooth, the other would jerk here and there, so it probably has something to do with the trailer would be my best guess.

alright yall, I ain't skeered off.

I changed out my spark plugs, oil, and air filter.
So far, its running a lot better. the plugs had no major damage from oil but a few of the gaps were valleys which was part of the problem. I did smell a faint touch of antifreeze on the old ones which has me worried.

Thanks for all the uplifting comments.
    I'd say I got a happy ending

My guess is the time stamp 420 has something to do with this. They say it makes the brain foggy.

Do you have the correct ball size? If your trailer calls for a 2 inch ball and your running a 1.7/8 ball you will feel some jerking around.
