Interchange 8in for 14in display?

No issues with mine so far for the reverse cam, use 361 suffix if it matters. Only issue I ran into is the left side vent/trim area is t sitting exactly flush around the small rectangle on the bezel trim. Need to figure out if anything was bent during removal but can’t seem to get the clips to snap in to lock it in place and it causes the gauge bezel at top to not sit right

 

glad to hear Goobax…I assume it’s a software update for me but it’s not a big enough concern to worry about.

 

Just a follow up here, my 14" head unit is still working, no issues and Sirius is still working.

However, I'm jonesing for the the on/off volume knob. I've looked into it a bit further and not only do you need the knob, but you also need the switch & volume assembly (one piece) 86170-0c010. I've read a couple of you have installed it, and I've already confirmed I have the wiring for the volume assembly.

My question is this, does the volume assembly just clip in or do you need to do something creative to anchor it? if so, please share whatever you used. Also, one of you used a bit to start the hole, did you finish if off with a step drill bit?

For those of you who are gonna ask, I've attached all my options from the window sticker.

 

The switch clips into the back….i used a drummel and slowly expanded the hole after starting with a small drill bit.

 

Piggy backing on this, you should add a rubber gasket over the module because it protrudes out of the hole

 

My unit still hasn't received the update. Has anyone who has done the swap received the new update yet?

I’ve had the upgrade vin sync’d. Nothing pops up yet, still 1050 as well. Will check periodically but not exactly having fomo

 

Did your dealership do it for you? Mines has no idea what I’m talking about and said it may cost me money if the process is time consuming.

If anyone can grab the files from Toyota website we might be able to update manually if Toyota is indeed blocking it which we arent sure yet. We all have the same model system so the files be the same.

 

I’ll wait for the more technically proficient to figure that out lol…not enough upside for me to get excited about the update….unless I’m missing something.

 

Couple used climate control switches popped up on eBay so I snagged one for 225. Came with the radio knob and module in as well and my truck has all of these options except cooled seats. Going to swap this in over the weekend and see if it works.

Didn’t want to drill out my original panel and this seemed cheap enough to try out. Pretty sure the part number is (55900-0C240) but can’t confirm but I know they were listed with incorrect part numbers as they used the radio knob module part number.

Will report back if it works, hoping I don’t fry something lol.

nothing has come over the air. In about 2 weeks or so I’ll make an appointment for my 5k service and just have them do it if it’s not crossing over by then.

 

Can confirm that swapping out the climate panel works and everything (except the cooled seats which I didn’t have) works as it should!

 

I have the 2050 update files but not sure which one to install since one says "entry" and the other says "premium". I'm not sure if that is referring to JBL systems or the screen size. Does anyone know? Has anyone received the update via OTA?

Can you confirm that’s the 55900-0C240 part number for that climate control panel you used? I definitely want to go this route instead of cutting.

 

I cannot confirm. Just look on eBay for one that matches your own button layout.

for example, I have seen modules that have buttons for the rear AC vents. Mine did not come with that as an option, even though I had dual climate, and the module I bought that was pictured also did not have that.

I know this is an older post, but I'm hoping there may so more knowledge gained that can help me...
I will throw so more wrenches into the mix that will most likely only add to the confusion. I have 2024 TRD OR with heated seats and 14" screen and of course, NO volume knob (only steering wheel controls for volume). I had bought the volume knob and control module from a person locally (only paid $40 and it was still brand new in box, so not really disappointed in the money lost) before ever looking to see if I had the connector plugged into the dummy port on the back on the HVAC panel, Unfortunately I do not have the connector/wiring back there.
My hopes are that someone has made a breakthrough and there now is a add-on harness solution to add the volume knob and module. @KroppDuster do you any sort of good news on this subject?
