@JakeJake over here like the Mandarin, "A true story about fortune cookies. They look Chinese. They sound... Chinese. But they're actually an American invention. Which is why they're hollow, full of lies, and leave a bad taste in the mouth.

If we could all retire at 50, that’d be great. Unfortunately, most companies and the government want you locked in till death before you can retire. Politicians are talking about upping the age to 70 for social security. I guess the idea is they want you dead before that time so you contribute without getting anything out of it.

What kinda of quad is that? I have aspirations of building an old Vespa P200 into a reverse trike. It would be a go kart style, so i would be sitting super close to the ground. I’d like it to feel somewhat safe-ish at 60mph+ on the highway.

I got the same plan, except mine was either our TX coast or NC. Both are spots I wanna do guided kayak fishing trips. NC cause the golf courses there fucking siiickkkk.

House is almost paid off, then it's just put $$ away for a little while longer and "adios fuckers"

I'd sell the house here and by a little bungalow on the Davis Canal and this would be my office

No one has had enough kids for the last few generations so the pyramid is now upside-down, so retirement age has to go up. I am planning for the future as if I will get zero from SS.

Sock away cash and/or invest in something with a decent cash flow and move to Mexico or Colombia and the living’s pretty good. Plus, Columbian Land Cruisers! Retiring at 50 is much more doable if your cost of living is third-world level. Only drawback would be if you or a spouse were to have major health issues in the future requiring specialized care or meds. Our US healthcare system is a burning garbage pile but we still have the best of the best doctors and research.

Which is why I'm considering on either moving to Canuckistan (fast track citizenship via high tech job) or the EU (citizenship via bloodline) for my next job and retire in a couple years.

Maybe become the Nova Scotia carpenter my father used to always used to joke about. :eek2:

What country could you get citizenship for via bloodline? I've had family here since the 1700s (from England and Scotland), the last of my family to migrate was my great grandmother (from Germany, sometime around WW1). Would have to find her birth records though (no chance) then convince my dad to apply via bloodline (little chance) in order for me to apply for anything.

Italy from my father’s side. My mother is 3 generations in since her family emigrated from Ireland, so that side is highly unlikely.

Cool! Now my wife may be able to apply for citizenship to Israel. Wouldn't want to move to the middle east though. I've known multiple people to do it though, and they've all had to serve in the IDF for citizenship... not an option.

Is there an age limit? I know for Italy, after the age of 45 you’re no longer required to serve.

Tried to look it up, looks to be age 50.

And I saw what looked like an ammendment to the Law of Return. Looks like there is a clause specifically against allowing people who converted away from Judiasm, so it wouldn't work for my wife anyway. She's 25% Jewish, grandfather was a full blooded Jew.

bake them, pull lenses, and spray your desired color? Might as well retrofit some projectors while you are in there...

I need to replace my broken turn signal. I figured I might as well replace the yellowing headlights too. But I prefer the 05-06 style with the little marker light on the inside. Since I have a black truck, I figure a black housing would be a change I might like. Plus I already have Colights I plan to install

Are they a direct swap? I've never thought about it.

My suggestion still stands. The depo housings I got through rock auto are solid. looks like 05-06 will run you $63 a piece. The hardest part of removing the lenses is not getting the butyl glue on the reflector, but if you're going to paint them no worries there.

They should be a direct swap, with a little wiring needed to get the inner markers to light up
