    Extended warranties are a scam.
when I purchased my 21 tundra the financial scumbag added $5500 to the price the sales guy and I agreed on, did not catch it until I got the paperwork from the bank, sneaky bastard had Extended the loan 6 months to keep the payments exactly the same and "gave me" a 100k Extended BS warranty not worth the paper it was printed on....oddly enough I wasn't provided that at time of purchase.
Long story short, it took me 3 months to get a full refund.
My opinion....If your Tundra has a failure that cost more than what a warranty costs, you are probably abusing her and the warranty company will use anything they can to get out of paying.

Toyota factory extended warranty is a good deal if bought from the right dealer. After market warranty I wouldn’t bother.
Bought my 2020 sr5 @ 42K so sadly out of luck.

Just because you failed to do your due diligence, doesn't mean that everyone else has failed to do theirs.

And your comment that any failure costing more than the warranty, means you are abusing your truck, is illogical and absurd. There are multiple members here who have taken advantage of the extended FACTORY warranty, gotten their money's worth and the issues had nothing to do with abuse.

Wow, that sucks that you got scammed. But a finance screw-over (adding 6 mos *and* 100k warranty to the deal) doesn't mean all warranties are inherently a scam. They're insurance policies, which are all akin to a Vegas bet. I've personally used extended warranties in the past that paid out 2-3x their cost. I've also cashed in a couple that I never used, and had a bunch expire without use. All in all, they're "just in case" insurance policies, and as I mentioned above, they *are* Vegas bets: the House will win over all sold -- they're in business. They're not unlike car insurance, property insurance, and really pretty girl friends.

Is there a reason we have to communicate this contact by PM? If we post his name and contact, are we violating any rules of the forum?

No. It is my understanding that we do it that way because of what happened with a previous forum member Roman. He was the go to guy for parts and then other dealerships complained and he got shut down. Fired IIRC

Not sure about his status on the forum now.

This is for Anyone who recently has bought an extended warranty for their 2.5 Tundra 4x4.
I received pricing last year and wondering if the pricing went up any.
I have an email into Jerry, but he is out of the office so if anyone could PM the price list for 2024, it would be appreciated.
    Thanks

Extended warranty, the seller tells you everything you want to hear to get you into it and the warranty company tells you everything they can to avoid paying for anything.

While that might be true, it certainly does not mean that every extended warranty for every thing, is a ripoff. If you review this thread and others, you will find that a Toyota extended factory warranty can easily be worth the cost.

Agree to disagree, respectfully, but for me it paid off in every vehicle I had. For instance:

    2011 Honda Pilot - Transmission replacement $7000
2014 Honda Pilot - Engine Failure VCM recall - rebuild entire bottom engine $5500
    2013 Tundra - 2 X MAF failure due to Texas humidity - $1800

And this is not counting the small stuff which was plenty.

Damn....that's some bad luck....Interesting though, 42 yrs. in auto industry and never heard of MAF failure due to humidity?
    I guess maybe if you're driving in a lake?:rain::rofl:

You could say bad luck indeed. The MAF one is from my BMW V12 recall excuse my confusion :)

Actually it was the a 2011 Toyota Tundra Air Pump and Air Switching recall and they had to replace 2 pumps in my truck since it was 2013 and the recall didn't cover mine so the warranty kicked in. But it was related to humidity in Texas for sure. Some technical terms I can't understand :) They replaced both pumps and updated the ECU code or something like that.

Wow, super happy with your contact @AZTundra. Just purchased 8yr/125K warranty for almost half of what the local dealer quoted me for 8yr/100K. Anyone interested definitely needs to ask for the contact.

I don’t think so. I believe you still have to be under the 3yr/36K factory warranty to purchase Toyota’s extended warranty.
