I have no idea. I have never used a pedal commander. I have the JB4 but I don't think it really helps the pedal response off the line. I think it only helps if your rpms are higher but I could be wrong.

The JB4 is cool and all, but it doesn't really have much practical use. It's just a fun thing to have and to be able to say you are pushing over 500hp. I have been using 93 octane and I don't put it over map 3 (+5 psi). My last tank I ran E30 just to see and ran maps 4 and 5 (+6 and +6.5psi) and you could really tell the difference when opened up, especially when paired with sport s+ mode. Again, no practical use unless using for more torque and towing, just fun.

Yeah, I had a 22 hybrid 1794 and it didn't have it. My 23 hybrid 1794 with AVS and rear air does. The only difference in the two is that it also adjusts the suspension to a more sport tuning.

This is the prompt that appears on the dash when changing into different drive modes,it'll highlight in blue what's being modified.

Yeah you have AVS and rear air. Did you put a lift or a level on?

No,I have the extended warranty so that being said if I toss in a 1/16" spacer in the front it will void the warranty.
Thus is why in the beginning when I ordered this truck I wanted the 3" factory and the AVS but unfortunately they don't go together.

It's been a bit since I've seen activity on this thread... How's everyone still liking the JB4? Still happy with their purchase or waiting for an actual tune that can eliminate the pedal delay vs the JB4? Anyone having issues with reliability? Was also curious if anyone has developed any engine issues (blown engine) due to the additional power or transmission issues from potentially exceeding the 650NM posted limit on the transmission. Will most likely get a JB4 but not until 30k miles due to having an early build '23 and ensuring my motor does not grenade naturally...

No issues on mine, which is an April 2023 build. What are the issues with that builds from that timeframe? Is there talk of a legit tune coming out?

For those of us not familiar, what is 650NM on the transmission?

Awesome, the hybrid exceeds that....unless it's a different transmission, components, and/or rating?

Is the electric motor before or after the transmission? I’m assuming before.
Also I’ve brought this up before but the 9.5” rear end was upgraded to 10.5” so there must be some limitation on output the non hybrid can handle. Just genuinely interested if anyone is having issues with the transmission with the theoretical torque limitation of 479 ft/lbs which I assume is exceeded with JB4.

My motto is, you don’t know, don’t act like you do…. These in-line plug n play mods, like throttle controllers, do not alter the ecu programming and once unplugged, leave no trace. There are plenty of YouTube videos explaining the differences between these and traditional tuners.

I've probably owned a JB4 the longest...got one as soon as they came out. Although I dont have a lot of miles on it, I've put it through hot summer months under the hood and freezing temps. Only issue I ever had was a problematic plug that needed modifying in order for it to click. BMS addressed this and started shipping out modified harnesses. Over 2 years, 20k miles on it so far...no issues. I've been running E30-40 and it's a lot of fun.

You're correct that it doesn't alter ecu programming but if it sets off a DTC, it can definitely leave evidence behind. Injector duty cycle might be beyond what would be expected at stock boost levels, calculated torque/hp as well, EGT..all of these can tip off an engineer or even a savvy tech. Again, this would assume a DTC was set when the truck was maybe being pushed hard. Having said that, I've removed mine before going in for service and have yet to be asked about it :)

Completely agree that there could be things a person has to dig to find but it is not like a traditional tune that goes in and alters the programming. You can clear codes to some extent but they will catch you if you get into the ecu.

To me, T+ feels stronger than S+. Steering doesnt feel as tight either. Not sure if the spoiler deploys while in S+ but I know it tucks in while in T+.

torque is immediate , just launches the truck like it weighs 2k lbs less lol:burnrubber:

Well what have I been missing?! How do I put it in tow+ mode and is it bad to drive in that mode without towing?

It's bad for mpg. Press the tow mode button and turn the dial clockwise. Idk if it's available on a trim levels.

Thanks! I'd assume if it is on your AVS/air platinum it would be on my AVS/air 1794.

Great read, I would assume that the JB4 would still be safe to use on the non-hybrid with the smaller diff. I’ll need to try tow +; didn’t hear about that trick.
