Add switch to DR LOK fuse on Toyota Tundra 2015

Can I add a switch to shut off the door lock 25 amp fuse on the under the steering wheel fuse box? I’ve been hacked several times, and I would just like to turn off the door locks power when I’m not in the car. Will this cause a problem with the car computers please let me know your thoughts.

The 2.5 gens are sensitive to electrical changes. I would not add a switch to a circuit like that. There has to be more to the story on your truck being "hacked" quite often.

 

So you want to be able to kill the power so it's not able to be remotely locked or unlocked when you're not in it so no one steals the signal and breaks in? Am I interpreting that right?

I'd have larger concerns on where the vehicle is being parked that it's happening multiples at. And why you're still there.

 

If anyone wants in, they will get in easily. Just place a rattlesnake in the console and make popcorn.

 

Yes, i agree. Don’t want to mess with that. But what I’m thinking is it would simulate a fuse blowing. No add ons to the circuit or use of it. Only happens when the truck is not running’

Yes you are exactly right.
It happens in my driveway. But it is frequent in the sense that maybe a little less that once per year. Don’t want to move. And some other vehicles have been entered on my street. Reported but the police don’t/can’t do anything.
But here’s a strange thing and makes me think someone is screwing with me. The third entry happened about a month ago. All they took was my handicap placard. Yesterday i got a letter from the Oklahoma placard management people. Inside was my handicap placard! I called to find out what’s up and they said someone had sent it to them and they looked it up, discovered it was active, found my address and sent it to me.
Go figure.

 

Thought about cameras?

Not comparing but for two years, my brother in law kept having a specific person drive up his road and blare his horn as he drive by. My brother in law finally caught up with the person that was honking and confronted him on why. My BIL was parking in his driveway but his (small) truck was hanging over the sidewalk and the neighbor was not happy about it. Simple misunderstanding that could have just been discussed and resolved.

If someone specific is screwing with you, maybe catch on camera or determine what is going on and have a conversation. Especially if it's less than a year common.

If it's malicious, simply making the truck "unlockable" isn't going to fix the issue. The other person could result to slicing a tire, drilling out the fuel tank or cutting off your converter. You never know what someone is going to do.
