    I like my truck in the garage :( but the wife doesn't want a bunch of bulky equipment in the house :annoyed:
    That's why we figured going back to the gym would be easier. This wouldn't even be an issue if they would just drop the initiation fees :angrygirl:

    Do you really want a "chain" gym? I personally HATE THEM. The gym I go to is just a local gym. The management is awesome....the people who go there are from all walks of life as far as gym life. Everything from weight lifters to cross fitters and everything in between.

    Mine is in a warehouse district....in fact is an old warehouse turned gym. I understand not wanting to be in a bad area. What's awesome about my gym is that they give free memberships to cops and military so the gym is safe and everyone looks out for everyone. I wouldn't want to cross the owner or his wife either....they are bad asses.

    That is pretty awesome. I'd love to support a smaller business like that. Good down to earth folks just trying to make a living. I agree big business sucks but some times convince and location wins out :(

    Depending how soon you want to get a membership if you wait till end of year and beginning they tend to always have sign-up deals. If you have a Costco card they have a deal for 24 hr fitness. I'm not sure if its a better deal but it might remove the fee youre wondering about.

    We looked into the Costco deal, but you pay up front for the year. We put everything we have into our house. We can't drop that much money right now. We are just two broke kids tryin to survive :(

    Sounds to me your best bet is the gym at the hospital/school. Sux for the wife, but for you it's free. Or just go cheap and get some dumbells at wally world and some PX90. You can always throw dumbells in closet so that it keeps the house organized and make the Mrs happy. I keep a mill and some dumbells in the storage room and that's where I go. I use the gym at work which is like a hotel gym. Has enough for me to do some weight lifting, just not enough to build myself up like Law or Sean; but it's free and better than at home stress eating while watching TV.

    Heck, you live in sunny CA. I'm sure there are trails you can walk/run/bike year round LOL
