Purchased a 2015 4x4 Tundra today with lifetime warranty on engine, trans and 4x4...My question is what can I do by myself or at an aftermarket shop that won't void my warranty...For example bigger tires/rims, Lifting it, Cold intake systems etc...20150813_093357.jpg

    Welcome!
The only reason they won't cover something is if they can prove said after-market part was the reason why something happened. Did you review the terms of what's not covered if you add / change said part(s)?

Best thing you can do is get a list from the dealer. Or like Sean said, there should be a terms and conditions doc you signed.

Welcome from CO. Ditto. Check with your dealer that way you are both on the same page at the beginning of your new Tundra adventure. Can't hurt.

The Magnusson Moss act of 1975 mainly came about because car manufacturers threatened to void warranties if you used non OEM parts. The act was a no brainer. As long as the non OEM parts meets or exceeds the OEM part then car manufacturers couldn't do squat. Without the act, there would be virtually no aftermarket part mfrs or places like O'Reillys to go to. There would definitely be less competition. Aftermarket lifts are a whole different ball game. Note: With so many non OEM parts manufacturing being outsourced to China, you might as well go with OEM parts when you can. NAPA used to have top notch parts. Now NAPA sells mostly Chinese made crap.

yes I agree OEM is best...I personally shop around for lowest OEM parts unless it's an emergency...
GOOD NEWS somewhat..spoke with my dealership and a 3" lift is ok and won't harm my warranty and that's as much I would want to go.

Dealers are for the most part fairly reasonable when it comes to mild but not wild lifts. If the front suspension has had it's geometry changed significantly and have front end issues of some sort, then you might get some push back from the dealer. (Unless the dealer had the install done) It doesn't hurt to develop a good relationship with your dealer. Send donuts and pizza occasionally. (right @LOTSOFTOYS ?)

Yes he was very cool...he did make a face when I said 6" lift so that's a forever no for me lol...
I plan in getting the parts and have the dealer install them hopefully will secure a better relationship with the dealership :)
