That was all big Debra, yeah I didn’t have any issue getting them replaced, maybe a slight; you really brought this back to get replaced?
What’s stupid though, is they just pull the one broken part out of another set and probably trash the set. Just give the the whole set then I don’t have to watch you struggle to get the package open and off those damn socket keepers!

 

I have no doubt some of the stuff they sell is coming from the exact same factories as Kobalt and Husky.

My only gripe or beef with HF/NT/etc. tools is all the nonsense with jackstand recalls, and any cast tools they sell, for a long time the cast stuff was garbage, made with pot metal. It's gotten better thankfully.

My favorite Harbor Freight tool is my creeper. I use it constantly in my garage. Convinced @jpink to buy one also.

To their credit, the 2nd time that happened, their CEO had one of the most honest admissions I've seen. You could tell he was genuinely embarrassed. I don't own their jack stands though...

 

I bet that's what happened to me. I bought a set of star point impact sockets. It was missing one size and had two of the same size instead.

I don’t know about @FrenchToasty ’s experience with the failed wobble socket but I’ve heard cheap ones can explode when they break. I’d rather buy the $250 metric wobble set from SK Tools than go with HF Pittsburg or Icon series. Just my two cents.

 

Yes. Creeper and seat with tool tray have lasted for like 20 years. Wheels/casters have about had it from some pavement use but that would likely happen to any... bought ready to replace em.

 

I really need to get a creeper. I've used them so rarely during my lifetime, and I'm so accustomed to bare-back shuffle, I've never done it.

Are their creepers 'lowrider' style?

 

Get one with quality wheels. Those are the first thing to go. If I ever buy another one, I’ll probably go with Torin’s big red.

The ones with metal wheels will outlast the creeper board though but they are more expensive and not easy to roll around upon.

 

I believe so. I'm able to fit under the truck without issue. I cannot express how handy a creeper is. Yesterday I was zipping around under there while pulling the sway bar. The only place it gets tight is under the front cross member.

 

FYI HF creeper is like $20 this weekend.

Somehow I managed to choose a house 21 years ago that was as far as humanly possible from every HF and NT anywhere. If I can spent an extra $10 with free shipping from scammerzon, I'm probably only eating two or three bucks.

BTW, that damn magnetic light you recommended has come in clutch so many times over the last several months, it's nuts. Really damn good product. Sucks on batt life if you have it in the brightest mode but with my shitty eyes, I've been finding all kinds of uses for it!

 

I haven’t tried their creeper yet but their wheels look like they’ll last longer than my Crapsman creeper. Still need to put the energy suspension wheels on once the wheels wear down.

 

I haven't had issues with mine but I'm also on the lighter side. If I was 250lbs I'm guessing the wheels would be toast. I do have to tighten mine occasionally. Honestly for the price, the HF creeper has been perfectly fine. At $20 it's a steal.

Exactly. Looking to maybe swap casters after like 20 years. But for cost likely buy another as it might be cheaper. Might get the one that has the heads up rest too but it's like $45 instead of $20 and isn't on sale now. The older one was padded like this but not adjustable.

 

Those $4 clear caster wheels from HF haven’t really worn down yet after replacing the Crapsman wheels but those are for the older smaller wheel creepers. They do get dirty easily though.

 

Thanks. Looks like this might be in my future to fix what's otherwise has been working well. Light duty 150 lbs but might work just fine. The more heavy duty seem to be 3".

 

Fixed my driver door not closing without slamming it today after years of frustration. Ordered the oem door lock assembly (

my only issue was the inside Door handle plastics grenade as soon as I touched it. I went to the junk yard but all the handles there were broken, if it wasn’t the clips it was something else ( old plastics I guess). I ordered a replacement from Amazon ($9.25) because it was so cheap. The color was different and the plastic texture was off so I took it apart and just used the plastic housing with my oem Handel.

Yep. Those are what I have on my older creeper. They work well but the dirt sticks to them.

Had a little analysis paralysis looking at alternatives elsewhere, but honestly at the price ya just can't beat it. 10/10 would recommend.

 

There should be one of the round clips still stuck inside the sail panel to plug in there, I'd expect, similar to what holds the door panel in. But I thought you had to install the sail panel in most vehicles BEFORE you snap on the door card. But yeah, that's typically what holes like that are for.
