IMG_5756.jpg UPDATE: in August I pulled off the chrome bumper corners, hand sanded them, and then spray painted Dulpicolor MGM ($14 from auto parts store). Seven months later and a WI winter and they still look great.

I have one of these and it was not as good as I was hoping. Maybe 3 out of 5 stars rating.
The problem is with the way it latch. I don't know the name of the type, but it is where you push it down to release, and then push down to lock again. So when you press your arm on the lid, the latch will disengage and the lid pops up a bit so that you can open it.
It still works. I keep napkins in there so it is always accessible (I am always eating something). It's just a little annoying sometimes when it pops up unintentionally.

How did it go? Did you just heat and peel off or you had to use other product? Looking to remove mine but saw here that some guys had surprises doing it and had clear coat issue after removing the decals?

My son tinted my windows and I did a 2 stage paint correction on everything but the 4 doors and roof. I then did the first of 2 ceramic coats. I’ll do the second coat on everything and paint correct the doors/ roof and do its first coat on Tuesday and Wednesday.

if the sun was shining it would be more impressive!

If it wasn't just vandalism, the thief probably had a hose/suction device and container on hand.

Finally crossed the line on some projects I've had on the workbench for a few weeks (where does the time go?)

    - Debadged
    - Installed my customized wheelcaps.
    - Installed my custom hoodvents.

    Progress is being made!

Are the back ones manufacture tint? or did you get it darker? Mine already has tint on the back and not sure if just to do the front to match or if it will still be too light...
You guys are giving me great ideas here....I will be broke by the end of the year. Details on the custom wheel caps and hood vents?

I've got them both typed up in my build thread (link in my signature). I don't want to clutter things up here so give that a look and let me know if you have questions! :)

Because I like hearing the turbos spooling. Only thing I'll change is blacking out the K&N logo.

The glass in the back from the factory is dyed glass. This does nothing for heat rejection or UVA of UVB rays that destroy your interior. So yes all windows are tinted on my truck,

I got a lot done to truck this weekend. Installed Bed stiffeners, first oil change and installed skids. Also installed dash cam but ordered wrong adapter for the usb power so it will be here Thursday.

Yeah I'm not sure how successful they were.

I drove a mile or so to the hardware store and when I came out I noticed the body trim piece for the fuel door was missing. My first thought was "someone tried to syphon my gas". So I get in the truck and turn it on and the tank showed full. So I thought maybe it was just a quality issue and the trim piece fell off.

Drove back home, saw the trim piece in the road and grabbed it. There was no damage or signs of prying on it or the truck, so I put it back on and it snapped back in place solidly. Fuel gauge was still showing as full. No warnings, etc.

Next day, wife and I leave to go get coffee and once we get about a mile away, the truck starts acting like it's got no power when I press the gas. No warnings or lights in the dash, just the RPM gauge struggling to go anywhere. I figure the truck's broken or something so I pull over and turn it off. Turn it back on and it automatically shuts off. Try one or two more times just to make sure and then use the SOS button to call roadside.

As I'm talking to them, all the sudden a warning pops up saying "low fuel". I look at the gauge and it's now empty. Like, that's impossible I filled it up a week ago and had probably only put 10 miles on it since then.

I realized somebody probably drilled a hole in my tank but I couldn't see anything when I got under to look.

By the time the tow truck driver arrived, I had gotten a small jug of gas and had him look underneath while I poured it. Sure enough, gas starts pouring out of that little 1/4" hole.

We live not too far from some junkie encampments, so I'm sure it was someone trying to steal the gas. But goddamn, if they even got it to drain faster than a drip without a vent hole, even if they brought a 5 gallon jug, that's like 25+ gallons of gas that just went all over the ground. Bastards.

Currently awaiting Toyota to do their inspection and provide a quote for repairs. Assuming it'll be a full tank replacement and hopefully I didn't damage anything else trying to drive it. Only 1100 miles on it too...

Just got word from the dealership. The truck is too new for there to be replacement fuel tanks, so I just have to get in line once my insurance approves the repair and just wait for some unknown time before the fuel tank comes off the assembly line and it gets fixed.

Just in time for camping season too. Bastard junkies.
