What have you done to your 2.5 gen Tundra today?

Oil change and added fumoto valve. Can't believe I haven't done this sooner.

 

...and why replace the Fox suspension? I am assuming it is better than the Bilstein, but perhaps I am wrong on this.

Finally washed the Tundra and 4runner. Been a few months.

 

new shocks are always better than old and abused ones. I’m sending my fox off for rebuild. I couldn’t do with 4-6 week turn around time. Just spent my lunch break swapping driver side and UCA. Passenger after work.

 

Fake spring next week ahah

Which leaf springs are you running?

 

OME with Firestone airbags and daystar cradles. For daily I have them at 10 psi and the ride is amazing and when towing I’ll bump them up to 40-50 psi and it keeps it level with my travel trailer.

 

These ones? did you ever try them without bags?

 

Yup those are the ones. I ran them with stock bump stops and they bottomed out when towing the trailer.

If I can do it all over I’d go Icon RXT on option 3 with timbren bump stops.

 

How’d you like them other than towing

 

They were nice and flexed well.

Random but we just sold our house and got more than asking so wife gave me the green light to get coilovers or 5.29 gears.. decision, decision.

 

Ugh. I’d probably go gears first. I’m almost to the point where I have to pick one of those for next mod.

Good idea, I have my stock shocks from my 2018 was going to sell them but guess I'll keep them when the time comes to have my Fox shocks rebuilt. So how many miles can one expect out of the Fox shocks before they need to be re-built? Mine have 40k on them and still as good as when I drove it off the lot.

 

Ya I’d do 5.29s with rear lsd but $5k+ is nuts. Then again, the coilovers I’m looking at are $4k..

I also plan on swapping out the Dobinsons from the 4runner to kings, fox or elkas. The dobs ride like shit. It’s my wife’s rig but we plan on building it into our trail rig.

Well trying to get this done before surgery so all the hardware showed up today. I had to drive all over for one part so I did not get started until 2:30 this afternoon. Got things ready for tomorrow, I need to buy 4 right angle brackets to mount the top to bottom

I ripped my rear seats out some time ago and have been working on plans to install a platform back there for my dogs and storage. Putting a mole panel in the back wall

So it is a work in progress hoping to get finished before surgery
