Second time doing a water pump timing kit, first one was good till the pump started leaking after a year and half truck ran good. This time I did the cam seals and put in an Aisin kit now I have a ticking noise in bank 1 drivers side in around the front of the cam cover that seams to speed up with the throttle. I used the bolt to hold the cam gear in place when I did the cam seals. I lined up the 2 dots on driver's side on back of the cam gears when put back in and the single dot is together on TDC. I will try to get a videos & figure out how to upload it.

You have the cam position sensor harness situated so it isn’t rubbing?

why does it look like two different teeth are marked on the passenger side cam gear?

I will double check the harness. The 2 marks where for the old belt i had 2 marks on that side and 1 mark on the other side for old belt.

Can you find a dimple on the backside of the gear to see which mark is correct?
Zoom in on my pic to see what I’m talking about.

Do you have the “CR” white paint mark lined up with the crankshaft dot?

Second question...where did you buy your Aisin timing belt kit from?

Yes it was lined up with the crank dot everything was lined up with the crank passed (ATDC) then turned over twice by hand and brought to 0 TDC . I bought it from Rock auto . Driving me crazy cause it ran fine before the job with no noise.

Not sure if pinning the cams with the service bolt is required for the VVTI models, but did you do that for the belt swap?

Can you buy a $5 stethoscope on scamazon? It might help to pin point where the noise is coming from.

It is if you're doing the cam seals.
