I have the 8” DD exhaust with the resonator on. The company and product have been good to me.

I installed a DD 8" with resonator last week. Like so many others, I dealt directly with Keith, and the guy is as solid as it gets.

The system turned out to be a little quieter than I hoped/expected, but I doubt I will be shipping it from FL to CA and back to exchange it. Without the resonator, it is close to the volume I wanted, but I found the drone just a little too annoying. So the resonator is staying on.

But hey, if anyone wants to trade their 6" for my 8", hit me up! (Still talking about exhaust systems, to be clear)

Ordered my 8" system couple weeks ago, still
wondering if it will be to loud for the wife & neighbors? or to quiet for my mini mid life (turning 60...Lol), can't wait to get the system and get it installed. I've watched so many videos and read forums as far back as they talk about Dirty Deeds inc.
I've got the last of the V8 Tundra's and plan to keep her long after I retire. Really want to enjoy that exhaust note while I still can.

This is great information. I have a TRD system I am wanting to get rid of and I think I found my next replacement.

I strongly doubt it will be too loud for anyone. My wife told me I could have bought the system behind her back and she might not have noticed the difference. (Although, some neighbors will complain about ANYTHING.)

My suggestion is, drive it without the resonator at first. It's possible you may decide not to install it. There's nothing to lose by hearing it first, before drilling that 2" hole in your tailpipe.

How to ruin an old mans weekend ....
but hey, bought those new ramps, and 2"hole saw with arbor.

    Now I just hope UPS hasn't somehow "misplaced" a 5' 40lb box .

A very similar thing happened with my shipment. First I got the "your package is on the way" notice, then I got "the status of your package has changed", then "your delivery has been rescheduled" then I got "your package is coming today" ... then I got my package.

All told, it took seven days to get my system delivered from CA to FL. Not too bad for regular UPS ground. And it arrived in good condition.

EDIT: Hey @RickPlatinum2020 , it's been a while ... you get your system installed yet?? :)

I'm in the same boat. Ordered the 8" as I didn't want it to be too loud. With the resonator it was surprisingly quieter than I anticipated, still much better than stock though. I just sent the 8" back yesterday to swap it out for a 6" system. Put the stock muffler back on and it sounds horribly quiet. Not sure how many vendors would swap out exhaust systems just because you wanted a better sound so I have nothing but good things to say about DD. Good luck with the exhaust OP. I hope its exactly what you are looking for!

That's a bummer. Had that happen with a lost computer that wound up being stolen. Recently had a shipment was lost but was found and delivered a week late.
Good luck and hoping for a good outcome!

Would you please post back here and tell me how the 6" compares to the 8"? I'd be very interested!

EDIT: How much was the freight if you don't mind me asking?

@Rstreight That sucks. And here I though *I* was the only person who could possibly lose such a thing.

Yeah I'll let you know and I actually don't know yet as far as cost goes. They sent me the label as Keith said it would be cheaper if they provided the label (my guess is since they have a business account) instead of me shipping it through UPS myself. I'm thinking once it is weighed and measured my card will be charged. I'll let you know once I find out though.

    Happy camper :)....
My replacement 8" system arrived today.
Will be installing this weekend then...
    :burnrubber::burnrubber::burnrubber:....Lol

Keith @dirtydeeds was great at getting me a system shipped out again after UPS lost the first one.

Just sprayed the bolts and happy to report at 43k no rust, they look practically new :yay: great thing about living in the south I guess.

Will say, those 8" mufflers look pretty darn small, Hope I chose right, cause I don't want to do any more waiting on shipping

I bet you're gonna wish it was louder, if anything. Can't wait to hear your thoughts about it.

Yesterday afternoon, I ordered straight pipes (from DD of course) for my other Tundra. I'm not screwing around this time. And believe it or not, my wife pretty much insisted on it.

Your 8 should be fine. I ran one for years.
I only swapped for a 10 because I'm getting a little older and wanted to tone it down.
After a month or 2 check those front bolts and make sure they are tight.
Mine came loose the first time I swapped the OEM for my 8.
I may not have tightened them enough in the first place..

@Nbab23 if the 8 was too quiet you should like the 6.
It will have more rasp when you push the pedal.

    Good luck to you both..

Okay 8" system installed, first impressions.

Cold start was much quieter than I anticipated.
Idle has a nice low rumble possibly as quiet as OEM, but sounds so much better.
Took her for a short 60 mile cruise, some highway some back roads.
With back window down and sun roof open I really have to get on it to make it "Loud" over 3k rpm wakes her up nicely, at 1900 to 2200 rpm with light load this exhaust is definitely quieter than OEM and has a much better tone. With windows up the booming drone the OEM had at those RPM's is nonexistent , just a nice low growl.
Now if you hammer down there is no denying an after market "Tuned" exhaust, this thing just sounds sweet.
Gotta hand it to Keith @dirtydeeds he has this system figured out.
My installation experience....all went well and fairly easy even for a 60 yr old man ....did brake the bolt for the exhaust pipe clamp, had to go to 3 different part stores to find a new clamp, only real issue I had.
the hardest part for me was getting the hangers in and out....they are really tight and pliable and fought me even though I had sprayed them with lube.

First off let me say I love this exhaust system... definitely not to loud, sounds great even for us old guys. My wife approves and the one nieghbor that has noticed likes the way my truck sounds.
I have put a little over 1k miles on my truck and I would have to say MPG did improve slightly on the highway from 18 to 19 avg. driving to Houston from San Antonio.( I was getting 17ish before)
City driving.....well, if I could stay out of it, probably increased a bit as well.
I find my self driving around with the back window down and the sun roof open more than I ever have, just to hear that sweet V8 sing.
Very glad I went with the 8" I think the 10" may have been to quiet for my liking.
@dirtydeeds has got the Tundra Figured out, I could not be more pleased with the results, this is the best mod I have made to my truck.

How did the 6 inch sound compared to the 8 i wam trying to decide between the both also. And are you running the resonator with the 6?
    Thanks

    Update for those that care....
My 8" system after a couple months, and maybe 5k miles, has gotten more throaty and louder. IMO better. I have run the resonator from day one, I do find it interesting how the sound has changed/Improved as it "settles in". I personally love the sound and volume as it is now, but any louder and I may be looking at upping to the 10".

I started with a 10" system, went to a 14, then a 20! I had Keith ready to build me a 24" system but had to back out. I really wanted to wait till I towed with the 20 before buying as I explained to Keith.(hopefully he understood) Things like that came to a screeching halt though, when we lost our Son that year. When, I'm able, I'll most certainly be buying the 24".
