Finally installed the TRD Pro flares. Tapped into the turn signal/DRL in front and used a diode dynamics 7-pin trailer harness with double output connectors for the rear. Was a major pain to get everything tucked away nicely and used deutch connectors all around for ease of removal if needed but overall happy with the results.

Finally got the 14in radio swap complete (sans volume knob) and found a dealer to do the VIN sync while I got my recall taken care of. Added the Spigen matte protector as well and very happy with the results.

Had a chance to get the truck cleaned up and install the UpTop Overland Truss bed rack over the weekend. I picked this up from @TheCrazyludwig last week and it is the full height model made for the diamondback cover. Even though UpTop Overland states that the panels will not open with the full height rack, I can fully open one side at a time since I have the 6.5ft bed.

With the full height rack the bed view and rear view mirror cameras are not blocked either.

I got @TheCrazyludwig other rack (mid height)! I have a hard shell tent on it now and it fits great. I will post some pics later. Going to make some bike racks tabs to connect to the sides of the rack so the bikes can be side mounted and the kayaks can go up top.

Lifted the truck and put on some Icon 6 speed 17x8.5 +25 wrapped in some 35 BFG Ko2's and also added a pro grille. Happy with how it turned out.

Got the mid height UpTop attached to the DB cover. And my new tent. It fits great and the top of the rack sits at the same height as the shark fin.

Once the snow is gone, I can grab some better pictures.

The tent hangs off the back only a few inches.

Not at the moment. Just adding another sleeping option if the adult kids want to come along.

We are doing a bit of a road trip to visit a bunch of family members this year and didn't want to drag the trailer along. This way we can lessen the work at each stop. We can pull up and pop open the tent and we are not as much of a bother. :)

Picked up my new TRD Platinum in Blueprint on Saturday. Visited a detail shop to to set up ceramic coating. I admit I had some sticker shock, but when I saw he was coating a McLaren, I knew he must be good.

I did DIY coating to my previous Tacoma and my wife’s Camry XSE. It took me ALL weekend just preparing the paint the best I could. I’m in the middle of a home project and in Wisconsin the bugs have not come out yet, but it will be soon. I’m going to bite the bullet and have it done professionally.

I will end up with a warranty and get a yearly “check up” with detailing and touch up if needed.

I’ve never paid so much for a vehicle before and want that Blueprint to look new as long as I own it

The sticker shock was enough for me to skip the ceramic coating on my Tundra lol. I also didn't have the McLaren to pressure me into saying yes either haha. That blueprint is going to look mighty nice though, congrats!

It’s going to run me about $1600. It involves a total paint correction (removing every blemish), so all the tiny imperfections from dealership to me will be gone. Perfect paint sealed with 6 year warranty. They even send info to have it added to Carfax that It has been coated.

I will be ready for Wisconsin bugs a road construction. Most everything should clean off easily.
