I'm wondering if I can unplug the hybrid noise speaker that turns on once the truck switches to hybrid mode. I have a TRD PRO 24 but I'm not a fan of the hybrid speaker noise I know its some mandatory safety measure but it would be nice to hypothetically disable it in off-road scenarios.

    1. I think it sounds goofy
    2. I'm using the truck to get to tree stands and it would be nice if it could be silent.

    IE The Jetsons noise lol.

What noise? When my engine shuts off, it is dead silent.

I mean it should just be a speaker somewhere, so I’d imagine it could be unplugged. Maybe someone who’s located the speaker can post a picture of it so our truck tech nerds can chime in

I think he is referring to the Jetsons spacecraft noise.

Toyota calls these - speaker, vehicle approaching. If your vehicles has them, they will be 3 and 5 in the diagram, 6 is the ECU.

Gotta say it…. If you collide with a pedestrian, the liability could likely be substantial if it becomes known you disabled this feature.

That said. Do the resistor mod, or even wrap/contain the speaker to reduce the sound.

Understood there. What a bummer here's the source for the law if anyone needs it in the future. https://www.federalregister.gov/doc...um-sound-requirements-for-hybrid-and-electric

I'm the weirdo that loves that noise. How do I make it louder? lol

    1. I turned off the fake V8 noise so I could here the turbos and the electric noise. (and it was giving me headaches)
    2. Yes, I bought the stupid BMS things to hear more turbo noise, but didn't install when I read it may cause issues.
