Just remember that it's gonna be a big sail in the wind. For that reason I'd try to stay under 24'. It's not fun or safe to fight against wind constantly.

The hitch weight will increase when the propane and batteries are added. And you’ll have a fairly heavy WD hitch to factor in. I would get the trailer connected and head to a CAT scale to see where you’re at, then you’ll know how much payload you have left. As stated above, wind is a factor so I would not plan on speeds above 65.
But yes the truck can pull it as long as you don’t add a family of 5 and a bunch of full coolers in the truck. Payload will run out quickly.

You have more payload that my 2018 Platinum, and that trailer is no heavier than my 2021 GD Imagine 2500RL.

We’ve towed it many thousand miles with no issue beyond the gas mileage.

You 100% need a good WDH that is set up correctly. Also recommend heavier tires on both the truck and trailer for added stability.

That trailer is 25’. The 29’11” dimension is including the tongue and rear bumper for registered length.

Set up correctly, his Tundra will drag that thing nicely.

Mines 34’, 7200# dry. Haven’t had any issues pulling it. Me the misses and the pups likely have us over payload though. Gotta remember the WDH transfers some of that tongue weight off the rear axle.

I get that for making sure it fits in storage, but this can get confusing. 99% of the free world calls this a 25’ trailer. A 30’ trailer is a whole lot bigger and heavier.

Would you suggest that my 20’ flatbed trailer is called a 26’ because of the overall length with tongue and ramps?

How about a boat? Should a boat length include the bow pulpit and outboard motors?

Not saying you’re completely wrong, but that 25’ trailer is a 25’ trailer. It’s just 30’ long overall.

My trailer is referred to as 25' because that's the interior (or "box") length. It's right in the model number. Hitch to bumper, the trailer is about 28', according to my measurements.

With the wind sail effects of a travel trailer, I'm more concerned about the box length than the overall length. You can safely tow a longer flatbed trailer than a travel trailer because of the dynamics (assuming the weights are ok).

My Grand Design 2800BH has a 28' box and is 32' total length. I agree it's the box length that is the sail.

My slightly modded 2019 (focused on towing) handles my trailer wonderfully, but I've also spent countless hours getting the entire platform dialed in and it's not uncommon for me to stop to adjust sway control given the conditions on day of travel. I believe a healthy respect should be given to how much mass a 12000-15000lbs combo actually is.

Based solely on the numbers provided, Id say YES - the truck can tow it.

The truth of the matter is that the answer is PROBABLY. OP didn't give locale, terrain, or any other supporting details. Kudos for asking though! It shows that even if they aren't well versed, they're trying to learn.

Yes. Set it up properly, and you’re good to go.

I saw this on one of the FB groups. Perfect illustration of what a good WDH does. This is how you tow a bigger trailer with a Tundra:

Top left: modded truck with occupants
Top right: truck and trailer, no WDH
Bottom left: truck and trailer with WDH.
    IMG_5323.jpg

With the WDH, neither of his truck’s axles are overloaded. Those numbers would put my truck 240 lb over GVWR. That means as my tank empties, I would be within GVWR. That small amount over would honestly not bother me at all.

Fighting that trailer in crosswinds or coming down a very long mountain grade would not be fun at all though.

I’d hop on the Alcon brake group buy if I were pulling something like that, especially if it involved long grades.

Those Bigfoot trailers are highly sought after in my area. Much better than average build quality with the two-piece fiberglass shell. No slides that I’m aware of though, yeah?

Im curious if that trailer would be a different model# south of the border. In US speak, that looks like what we call a 19-21’ trailer….

It seems that the fiberglass manufacturers just use a different naming convention than everyone else.

    Lots of stuff!
Airstream does this it this way. They give you the total length including the hitch and bumper (if the model has one).

Mine is a 22' and it is actually 19' of shell and 3' of hitch.

Appreciate all the feedback from everyone. I learned a lot in this discussion.

Seems like I could technically pull it but need to be conscious of my payload. Also, sounds like it’s going to be a sail in crosswinds. Good info that I’ll keep in mind when making my decision.

Truck? So many options out there. I’d prefer a quality LT tire over any of the SL or P tires. Load range C through E. Whatever blows your skirt up.

Trailer? Big fan of putting the heaviest rated tire you can fit. In my case, that took me from a 205/75-15 LRD to a 225/75-15 LRE. Barely wider, and 3/4” taller. Make sure you can afford to lose 3/8” clearance above the tire! Goodyear Marathon tires are the industry standard for high quality trailer tires.

In my opinion, a TPMS system on the trailer is more important than on the truck. You might not notice a trailer tire starting to lose air before it’s a catastrophic failure that tears the side of your trailer up. I use a TireMinder I-10. It’s been very useful.

My guess is your tongue weight will be 800-900 lbs, maybe even over 1000, leaving you with 300-400 lbs for everything else, including you
