I've read that the only way to lift the differential is with bigger tires, any lift kit only lifts the body, is that true? I'm enjoying off-roading more and I want more protection so skid plates is a must, plus sliders, a diff skid would be nice but haven't seen one for tundras yet.

Technically speaking, yes the only way to get more diff clearance is larger tires, but the only way to fit larger tires is by lifting the truck.

Skid and slider wise, RCI has a nice selection!!

Here are a few links to the ones they currently offer (unfortunately at this time there is no rear diff skid).

David is correct. The diff height is not affected by a lift, only larger tires will increase that clearance off the ground. If you want to go up to a 35 you will need to lift to fit them.

Thanks David, good information you have provided!

True, I have seen some with leveled, even stock height able to fit 35's with some minor cutting.

Thanks Sean, badass truck there brofessor

    Hmmm, interesting, thank you
