I’m looking to swap out my sr5 grill to a heritage grill.
I bought the grill oem and looking to buy the light bar and switches and marker lights. My question is can I wire them on to a switch ?
I was going to buy the oem marker lights and the Diode Dynamics light bar for $380. Do I buy 2 switches to run the marker lights and light bar ?

Lot of how toos on here and YouTube.

Light bar will come with a switch. But you can buy an oem style one to make a nicer install.
Marker lights you can either add a fuse into the fuse box on the passenger side in the hood, and they’ll always be on when the truck is on, or you could tap into the headlight running lights. I mean you could get a switch for them but I haven’t seen anyone do this.

There have been reports of the DD light bar cracking the grille since (unless it’s changed) there isn’t any support for the weight of it. I have the exact same swaps you mention in the original post. My OEM marker lights didn’t come with wiring and the connectors were hard to source. When I found the connectors, I just wired into an always on fuse under the hood with add-a-fuse. The OEM light bar that is supposed to fit there has a support but it interferes with the automatic grilled shutters if you have them. The only solution I’ve seen so far is a Baja design bar the comes with the vertical support that MIGHT fit in front of the shutters but I haven’t pulled the trigger on that yet personally…

Make sure you check the grille now because Toyota suppliers have been shipping the wrong parts and grilles have come in broken. I had 3 come in broken and the wrong part for the front bumper.

diode dynamics updated their brackets late last year I believe so that shouldn’t really be an issue anymore. I saw a fair amount of posts on the lights vibrating but nothing about actually cracking the grill but I suppose that’s possible base on how much it could move

Intriguing. Any specifics on it? I’ll admit, with the slight wobble I see in the grille just from shutting the hood, I could easily see the weight of any light bar without support lead to the cracking people have described. I have a DD light bar in the covert CBI bumper down below and I am quite happy with it. Would love to stick with DD for consistency and price point.

I just completed this last weekend. Added heritage grille with marker lights. I used the rave harness for this. Lights come on when the truck is on. DD light bar is ran to a OEM style switch that I purchased from caliLED. The light bar comes with 2 new supports (pictured above)

This is awesome news. I’ve noticed the profile is pretty deep on my other one. Do you have the automatic grille shutters? Does everything clear them without further modding?

Thanks for all the info, I installed my grill and all my lights. I installed the TRD marker lights with the rave, off-road harness, which works perfect and stays on when the car is on.
My only problem is trying to wire up the light bar I have the Cali LED switch and the a light bar has just two wires coming from it. Does anybody know if there’s a wire harness or how I would wire the light bar to the switch? Thanks in advance,

Depending on the light bar, the wiring harness should have come with a relay which you will need to hook up to caliraised switches. If no relay was included, you may have to wire your own or see if the lightbar supplier has a plug and play harness.

I had a recent post where I wired up my first harness on my own and so far no problems. It might be a little confusing to follow but if you're comfortable with electrical work, its the cheapest approach.

You need a relay harness. You can get them on Amazon for a few bucks. The switch will power the relay and that in turn powers the light bar. I bought a Baja Designs grille light and they sent everything I needed. Looking at the DD website, it looks like the kit does come with a harness...did you not get it?

    Lots of stuff!
I got a DD Light bar and it does come with the relay harness kit and some brackets to stiffen up the flimsy grille.

They even give you a little toggle switch so you can connect these up and make them work. Getting a matching switch would be a different purchase.

I haven't hooked mine up yet, waiting for better weather so I can paint the stache and wire up my fender lights.

I didn’t get a wire harness with my light bar . It looks like I will have to rig something up myself. First to find a good and easy harness relay on Amazon or local store today

Just starting out but never will be done
I have the OEM light bar in mine and I used some round aluminum stock from Home Depot and cut into 1 1/4" inch sections and got some longer 6 mm bolts to make my grill shutter clear. Was less than $15.00 in partsrock lights 2.jpg

I just ordered the oem marker lights from Sparks tonight. Looks like there isn’t any wiring based on the photos. Now I’m anticipating no wiring coming with them and stumbled on your post. Where did you order from and where did you source the connectors from? TIA!

Got the connectors here. https://thetrailhunters.com/shop/exterior/2022-tundra-trd-pro-fender-flare-marker-light-plugs-kit/ It says fenders but the plugs are the same for the marker lights. Ran the wires along the clips in the OEM marker plastic piece and then did add-a-fuse to an always on with ignition fuse in the engine bay. (Can post pics if interested). I also had a spare waterproof harness lying around so I cut the lines right about where the other harnesses disconnect when taking off the front bumper and grille and wired them up to the connector so now I unplug 3 harnesses on that side instead of two when I need to pull off the front for other things.
