Hi I'm new looking to buy my first Tundra. I've done a fair amount of research but I wanted to get your feedback. I'm lookin to buy a 2007+ Tundra Reg cab 4x4 5.7 V8 short Bed. I know to watch out for a rusty frame, sagging leaf springs, cam tower leak, rust underneath bed liner, seized spar tire, make sure 4x4 engages and listen for any knocks bumps and rattles. Anything else I should look out for?

I found one but I noticed the frame looks to be painted, is this a concern? I included a picture. Also, it looks like the truck had a plow attached, the bracket is still there. Should I avoid this truck? I don't trust some of the small deanships. I pulled the Carfax and it verifies the info they advertised but it was purchased at an auction and there was a minor accident. I'm going to have a pre-purchase inspection done by a Toyota dealer. I would never buy a used car/truck without a pre-purchase inspection, I learned there hard way in the past. Any feedback would be appreciated.

Anybody on here who has a RC truck to sell let me know.

If it had a snow plow on it, where did it live? The black could just be rustproofing.
Snow plow means front suspension has been put to it. Heavy duty wear. I’d be
okay with it buy I do all my own repair work. If you can’t do the service I’d keep looking

If you’re buying a truck as a driver and not as plow truck you may want to move on. Plow trucks take a beating.

Eh I'll know more when the Toyota dealership does for a full point inspection, they usually are pretty detailed. If they say its good I'll buy it. I won't be doing any work that's for sure.

The Carfax says it was for personal use not commercial use. It could be just someone making some extra money on the side or perhaps he has a long driveway he likes to clear fast. Funny thing is, at my local Toyota dealer there was a Tundra RC 4x4 truck that also had attachments and controls on the inside for a plow, it had 20k more miles but a year newer and it drove like brand new, no issues that I could detect from the suspension. Maybe dudes are selling their snow plow trucks because we haven't got much snow this winter so far. lol My local Toyota dealership wanted 30k OTD for that 2013 truck and it had surface rust on the frame and a scratched up dash. I laughed and walked away. Isn't that what they cost brand new in 2013? lol Sales dude must've thought I was a fool.

Snow plow means a much shorter transmission life depending how much snow was pushed. I pushed snow for several years and it puts a beating on the tranny’s.

Many “personal use” trucks are used for business purposes and vice versa. I wouldn’t use that information as a deciding factor on anything.

Thanks for the tip. I didn't realize that but it makes sense. I'm getting it inspected at a Toyota dealership, I'll have them check the transmission throughly.
