The radio in my 2024 SR5 does not list any song information on my local radio channels other than the station name/logo. On HD and Sirius channels all the info is there (song title, artist, etc), but on my normal local stations I see nothing. Is there a setting I'm missing? All this information displayed on my 2017 SR5, so why would the 2024 not have it??
Also, is there a way to keep the radio on after turning the vehicle off. On my 2017 the radio would stay on until the door was opened, I believe. I know alot of other vehicles have this feature as well. Hopefully this is something that could be fixed with a software update.

The data is coming from the station. It's called RDS (I think it's "Radio Data Service"). Some stations broadcast it on analog and digital (HD) while others only broadcast it on HD. I've asked a station that was broadcasting it on both and they told me that they had an equipment problem and that it would come back when the problem was solved (it did).

I too would like a way for the radio to stay on after turning the engine off. You can just push the start/stop button without the brake pedal pressed and it will turn on "Accessory" mode. That mode is very limited - you can't even roll the windows down so I don't know exactly why it's there. Press the start/stop button one more time without pressing the brake pedal and you'll be able to do just about everything except drive off since the engine isn't running.

On my truck ('24 Limited), I occasionally lose the ability to adjust the volume on the radio or podcast. I have to press and hold the radio button to reboot it. This can be done while driving.

Forgive me if you already know some/all of this.

I know my local stations broadcast that info in analog because my old radio had it. Its just weird why a 2017 with an older technology radio would work fine and a 2024 with a more "high tech" radio would not.
I have used the radio while parked in accessory mode, but its annoying that the radio turns off and has to reboot which takes forever.

If you turn the truck off before shifting to park, the radio will stay on.

Honestly, I shouldn't have to do this in a 65k 2024 vehicle. I would hope toyota could fix this with a software update, but i won't hold my breath.

I'm with you that the radio should stay on until the door is opened. All of my other recent cars have done this. For the data issue, mine works just fine but I had to set RDS and Gracenote on. Here is some information from the Multimedia Owner's Manual and how to set RDS and Gracenote.

Thanks for the info, I'll try that. I would assume all of that is already set correctly though, since my Sirius and HD channels display all of the information, but I'll double check.
So you're getting song title/artist info displayed on your local non HD radio stations?

Yes and I have a number of HD radio stations too that show title/artist as well. But as stated earlier, it depends upon the station.

I'm also getting the info on the HD channels, nothing on non HD stations though (other than station logo). What is weird is my old radio displayed it on non HD stations, so why wouldnt my new one?

I have basically same issue with my 2023 Limited. It actually truncates or stops short of displaying the full song information. I brought this to the attention of my dealership and told him there must be something wrong with the trucks software as my 2020 Highlander does not have this problem at all. He just shrugged his shoulders.... So from my perspective I don't see this as as radio station transmission problem as both vehicles are tunned into the same radio stations.

If you do a Google search this is not just isolated to the Tundra but also newer Rav4's and some Camry's.

good points. In my Limited, I actually have better reception and more information than I did on my Acura MDX. I've got the JBL with large screen.

Exactly, my last Tundra displayed all of the info just fine and my wife's 2021 Honda Pilot works just fine...with all the same stations! Obviously its a problem with the radio.

Anybody else having this issue with a newer tundra? I just was in a rental (24 Tacoma) and the radio displayed everything, including song info. Weird because it was the same software, radio, etc. as mine. I spoke to my dealership and they said none of the Tundras displayed this info. Very frustrating.
