I'll start by saying I drive Toyota trucks because of their exceptional reliability... I've had at least 10, in my life, and NEVER had a problem. Most recently, I upgraded from a 2022 SR5, to my current 2024 Limited... Yesterday, while towing my RV through the mountains of WV, I received this... Of course, being WV, there was no place to stop. As I still had oil pressure and the engine temp stayed normal, I rolled-the-dice and drove to the next gas station. In route, I called my dealership and the tech suggested maybe it was a malfunctioning sensor. I decided to go with that assessment and continued the 6 hours home... During the remainder of the trip I stopped two more times, shutting down each time, with no change. Crazy part is, when I got home and unhooked and unplugged my trailer, everything went back to normal... Your thoughts?

I would think the fault code is still in the computer. I'd be curious as to what the issue was. I'm sure they can hook the laptop to that (or you can even get your own dongle) and get the code it threw. Seems to be a temporary thing, but worth at least taking a quick look at. I would think if you drove it for 6 hours after that, it would have gotten worse if it was a real issue.

It is a picture drawn by a computer on display, not a hardware gauge. For example, my other vehicle has ECT gauge dead center with coolant temperature anywhere between 140 and 220 F, while thermostat opens at 188.

This is the oil pressure sensor you can trust ;)

I open tundras.com and what I see? 80% of Gen3 problem threads, 15% of Gen1 folks modding their trucks, maybe 5% of "Hello, I bought a Gen2". If I could unsubscribe from entire irrelevant to me forums, I would do just that. Sorry for inconvenience.

pretty sure that picture he posted was his dash display showing an oil TEMPERATURE readout that was incongruous with the other temperature sensor readings. That may be the culprit causing the CEL warning was my point. Thanks for playing though.

Well it was sarcasm. I took the 3 for 3rd gen and 4 from 2024. Then 2 for 2nd gen and 1 for the last year(2021) of the 2nd gen and 6 for the 1st gen since it was the last year.(2006). Not to mention there isnt enough space for 61 thread of just the different gens.

Does not matter. I don't even look at those Gen2 threads, they are boring.
