Morning fellas, so quick question for you all. I've read about 7 pages now and very informative. But I guess I'm still paranoid about it. I want to jump onto 37's but want to know if I need to do anything to my lift. Currently running Kings with a 3" lift with body chop. I forget what upper control arms I'm running I'll look later. Wheels are 18" with zero offset. I called the place where I did my lift and they said I wouldn't be able to run 37's cause of my lift. Just wanted to see if this is true or not. Any info will help. Currently looking at getting some Toyo RT tires, my k02 have about 30k on them but I 've had them for about 4 years now and would like to get a fresh set of tires. Thanks again

It’s not the lift that’s hurting you, it’s the 0mm offset. Try moving to a +25 to +35 and you’ll be in better shape with less trimming.

 

No problem jumping to 37's. Like Chad said, 0 offset might cause more rubbing on the fender behind the front tires. Would be best to have adjustable UCAs to increase caster a bit. Your lift would be great for 37s.

I am running 2.5" front and plus 1" shackle in the rear and running plus 35 offset 17's with 37's. No rubbing at all. I am bumper spaced and the plastic is pushed back an extra inch and do have a BMC. Good luck!

 

On the hunt now to look for new wheels with the offset you guys gave me. Hard part is deciding which wheel and how they look in person Vs internet.

If I were putting 37” tires on 17” wheels for a Tundra, I’d be looking at any 17x8.5” with +35mm offset. That’s pretty easy to find. Method for sure, and I believe SCS may be the same offset in their 17” flavors.

I finally got my 37s on. 3.5/3" lift



BMC, bumper shim mod, SPC UCA, trimmed plastics. Rubbing the BMC on full lock left and I believe some plastics need to be cut more.

I got an alignment after the mount and balance and asked the tech to get me as much caster as possible. We went from 5.3 to 4.7, and 6.3 to 5.8.

I went home confused on why I had less caster than originally.

I'm back today and I asked another tech to see if he would be able to adjust the caster and try to get it as close to 6 as possible. Caster specs did not change but now I have negative camber.

Should I find a new shop or are alignments more complicated than they seem?

 

May want to check that the SPC balljoint is in the correct position to max caster. My guess is he is not adjusting that and only adjusting cams. A good alignment shop should be able to adjust these for you. Usually they are not just your typical alignment shop though and are some sort of race/performance/offroad shop. I have a drift car so my drift car shop buddy was able to dial in everything for me however it cost me $200 for a one-time alignment, which is typically what my drift car costs after I hit another car or end up needing adjustments.

 

Did test fit, so the Turbomac HD 17x8.5 et0 clears StopTech ST60 calipers, goal is to have tires on by end of the week.

Update: done, exhaust needed to be chopped

I love the ride, not sure how much the springs will settle, ET0 requires lot of massaging but it clears 99.5% of time, will need more caster when new shocks go in.

 

I've been silent for a min but I think I'm going to pull the trigger. I wanted to go 17" wheels but I thought I read somewhere that for the big brake kit wheels need to be 18", 17" wouldn't work. Any info on this ?

 

Yes, but there is a kit that clears 17’s. If you search on this site you should find it. I think it starts with an A

barrels is gonna be the tight spot, but it clears, tons of space between spoke and caliper surface, I think Alcon has more clearance than Stoptech.

still loving the 8100/8112? I'm still waiting for mine to arrive, those Titan was my first choice but couldn't get them to clear the calipers.

 

Same question as @Downytide on your feelings about the 8112 suspension.

 

I had the kings before the bilsteins so i can give a comparison based on that. Remember the Billy’s were tuned by Ian at wheel every weekend.

The bilsteins shine over the kings for a few reasons.
1-The fit and finish is nicer and they have held up way better than the kings in the winter

2- The Ride quality is much much better being that the front is more plush with more articulation. Less preload is needed on these than the kings because the coil on the Billy 8112’s is actually bigger and thicker. The Billy’s use a body that is bigger than 2.5” like the king so the spring follows suit and carries the static load better with less preload. The rears made my truck Feel like a completely different rig. The adjustability is great and the adjusters actually do something that is felt unlike the kings.

3- I get more drop out in the back being that the Billy is about 1-1.5” longer than the king.

 

Which calipers are you running? I’m on stock calipers i just had to watch where i put the stock on weights so that they would clear.

 

Stoptech ST60, James from Titan said the wheel spoke will foul the caliper surface, and the barrels would've been close, surprsingly the Fifteen52 clears with tons of space.

There's two kits, one uses factory sized rotors, which I have, clears 17s, but SOS couldn't be certain since the ST60 calipers are wider and has more overall diameter, so he always said use 18" to be safe, Titan confirmed the smaller version won't clear either TAK1/2 wheels since spokes will foul.

The second one is 380mm kit, that one SOS mentioned needs 20", I'm sure some 18s will clear but you will need a flat spoke design with low offset, Vivid Racing Forged wheels, I think D02 would clear in 18"s, but they run 18x9 et0, Volks Te37XT 18x9 won't clear the 380mm kit, but will clear the 353mm kit.

 

37’s to 37’s. Went from 17” Alpha’s with KO2’s to 17” Method 706’s with Baja Boss AT’s. Damn these things are beeefy!
