Is that this weekend at Black Snek's work?
I thought we were going to the car show this weekend. BTW, do you have a spare room or somewhere I can crash for a night or however long we want to tinker with your truck? If not, i'll just head to the cabin after. The parents will be there this weekend for an owners meeting. Or if it's cool enough at night, maybe I'll put the softopper on the black truck and camp in your yard.

So in prep for T2S: PE, I took off work at lunch so I could finally finish my shit. Thank God it was only 40 mph winds today.

    KIMG0684.jpg

    KIMG0685.jpg

I bought another headlamp and a flashlight from the home depot. Forgot to get another 18v milwaukee USB battery charger, which is why I went there in the first place. Fuck I hate ADD.

So I ended up changing my oil, adding between .75 to 1L of diff juice to my front diff(fuuuuuck), changed out my rear diff juice, rotated my tires, and swapping my amps as previously mentioned.

Oh, I also removed this thing, whatever it is. It was making clunky noises.

    20240227_173042.jpg

I guess I hit my bumpstops a little to hard...

    20240227_173504.jpg

Front suspension still looks good. Everything is nice and tight still.

    20240227_173512.jpg

    Ironman ain't got no shoes!
    20240227_173532.jpg

I found these just chilling in the shed of shame. I guess I forgot I bought em.

    20240227_175256.jpg

Oil was a nice honey brown, even at 330k miles and 11 months since the last oil change.
    KIMG0686.jpg

Now, time for the bad. My rear diff fluid came out VERY shiny. It probably won't show up in the pics, but I'll post em. I 100% contribute this to my lack of a diff breather. I bought a new one, but it's not a screw in one; it's an in the hose one. And I can't find my hose I bought for it.

    KIMG0687.jpg

    KIMG0688.jpg

    KIMG0689.jpg

    KIMG0690.jpg

Which leads me to my next problem. I didn't drain my front diff, just refilled it. It was making a grumble grumble noise, which went away after filling. I'm gonna need new gears sooner rather than later.

And look what else I saw.

    20240227_173519.jpg

Pics of the backing plate won't show up, so I didn't take them. But yeah, looks like my axle seals are leaking AGAIN. That's just 100% what I didn't wanna see. I can buy new gears, I can fix whatever, but fuck man, me and @Mr.bee did these perfect. I guess it's time for new axles. Well, before that I may try 100% oem on everything. Drums, shoes, bearings, all of it. We'll see.

    A few side notes:

It is a HUGE pita to drop a skidrow plate and put it up by yourself. I had to contort myself and hold it up with my knees and thread the bolts in. Loosen your oil filter first, then jack the truck up.

No swaybar made almost 0 difference. I took turns at a rate hard enough to slide shit around in my bed and felt almost no difference. However, on the highway at 80 mph in 40 mph side winds with shit ass caster settings, it does get a bit squirrely.

So I also didn't get my headlights/markers/foglights installed. I ran out of light, fast. It started blowing in smoke from a fire, and the wind shifted to the north and dropped the temp from 75 to 50 real quick. I also had to make 3 trips to town. Ugh. What a fucking pain. I caused it myself though, by not preparing enough, even though I did finalize my decision to go less than a month ago. Oh well. Live and learn.

Yes it is. I tried to install my new one without a jack. Wish I could have recorded myself struggling for your entertainment. It's 43lbs which doesn't sound like a ton until it's laying on your chest. I gave up quickly. I'll get it done this weekend with a jack.

You’d have fun working with me; today we had to drain a 9 story building and remove/replace a flex coupling on a 6” chilled water main. Took FOREVER to drain, we had to cut out all 16 3/4” bolts due to corrosion. It wasn’t heavy just a pain, but we overcame!
That woulda taken the plumbers 3 days, or they would have subbed it out

Are these nilights? Looks like you're running halogens in the new clears? Just got a new clear set too and considering LED conversion.

Sell some those new end links to someone here and sell me those new bushings. I need to replace the ones on my 03 rear sway bar. I'll double check tomorrow to make sure the fronts match the rears.
Then take that money and buy some front and rear superbumps or durobumps or the ones @FirstGenVol posted. If nothing else, put a spacer on you OEM bumps. Your coilovers should've came with some. Otherwise you risk bottoming out and blowing your shocks.

Agreed. I installed all four skid row plates by myself without a jack. Just willpower and elbow grease. It wasn't fun, but I got it done.

I still have my OEM stops on my truck and its like almost 3 inches over stock in the front. Ive been debating on which ones to buy. So many choices, but I think I want to go with a delron style, its a bit more durrable than rubber ones
