Well gents I can confirm on multiple runs the tundra is faster than a TRX from 40-120 on mexico freeways. But not as fast as one with a pulley making 626 wheel hp. In the dirt over anything not a chance.

I wimped out and paid somebody to do it so I could have it back the next day. It was the first Whipple he had installed, but he has installed dozens of Magnuson's and a few Harrops on Tundras. He noted that the whipple was the easiest to mount on the motor and work around. Just sayin.. :D

I installed my Harrop. Took a day and a half but I was in no hurry. Rigged up a pulley from the ceiling to lower that heavy bitch. Other than that, no issues. I also installed a Whipple on my old Chevy years ago. No issues then either. That was before the days of HP tuners. It had a piggyback computer to turn on the 2 fogger injectors.

    Anyway, I digress....sorry.

Were you surprised by this? Cause I am, that’s pretty awesome. I’d be content matching the acceleration of a TRX.

I knew it’d be close with a stock TRX. But one with any mods was surprising. Good runs. 2nd from 40 hits damn hard

Awesome!! I'm hoping to run into a few TRX's when my build is done.

Nice! got any video footage? I'm not super surprised from a roll you were able to beat one. They are really just super quick from a dead stop. I ran a stock one from a dig but he let me have the hit. I had to let off around 60 because well, i was not in Mexico, but he was never able to get past me and he definitely was not gaining on me.

LOL. Well verbal confirmation is enough for me to believe you. Just imagine if we were able to get a better shifting trans with more gears in these things.

Couple runs in the dirt I’ve got. Funny the one white one with the pulley wanted to run on the dirt in a flat section as soon as we hit the rollers he was toast lol but someone got video of that but not great. Just us leaving the line through two gears then one of me doing high speed fly by. Happy to text it to anyone if interested.

The TRX offroad handling looks like utter ass compared to a Raptor from what I've seen, let alone anyone with actually dialed shocks.

I searched and I'm surprised I couldn't find anything.... Toyota doesn't really trust us to drive without some form of traction control. Both my Tundra and my Lexus have the same issue. When we turn TC "off", it's not really completely off. It's more like a parents arms ready to catch their kid when they first learn to walk. Get a little too sideways, or a smoky roller, and the computer senses that too much fun is being had and closes the blade and puts you 1 second of timeout. Has anyone played with switching the signal from the wheel speed sensors? I'm assuming the nanny flips the switch based on speed differential. Thoughts? I want full shenanigan mode.

Doing the double press/hold doesn't work? My truck has absolutely zero interference, full burn out, sideways, it doesn't give a shit.

I can do the push and hold, the light comes on. A slow moving burnout with 125mph wheel speed is fine but no high speed drift mode. If I try to crab walk it too fast it shuts down. Pull out hard like I'm in Dukes of Hazzard... slapped on the wrist. My Lexus IS is the same way.

Should be two lights come on. Hold and LSD and I think trac light comes on, then VSC Off also comes on a few seconds later----at which point let go and then hold again and eventually just trac light and VSC Off are both on.

Though good chance I'm just not trying to do the gnarly shit you are.

I haven't been doing that last step. The VCS light has been on. I'll try that later... watch the news to see if it worked.

I had to go out to the truck to remember the sequence. There's three modes, press once, press and hold, and hold+hold again. Last one fully disables everything.

Are the 2.5 gets that different with alsd? I know they have an extra step. I can have it on, alsd, and get it sideways and do donuts. Are you able to power through when it starts cutting power? Just keep pressing the pedal?

I have the ALSD but I have an Auburn also. I can keep my foot in it but it won't come back until the truck straightens out. I have an idea what Sniv posted is the fix. I plan to slide across the hood and test it tonight. Then I'm going to see if it's the same in my IS.

It may be more intrusive on the 2.5 gens. I always drive with all the Nannie’s off on mine (double 3 second button hold) and it still occasionally steps in and cuts power when I’m barely doing anything crazy. It gives me a dead pedal for a second sometimes if the tires break loose, mainly from a 20-30mph roll.

Ain’t gonna lie, the newer the vehicle the more it pisses me off lol. My wife’s 19 rav4 annoys me as well. This keyless fob push button start thing is even horseshit IMO. I don’t recall my 2010 doing that, but it also had about half the horsepower as my 2017 so I can’t really say lol. Most of the time I don’t notice any power cuts, but I’m usually not roasting tires because I hate the thought of destroying them at $300 a piece.
