We're in Deltona about halfway up the state 25 miles inland. Starting to board up Thursday night . New roof on last year thanks to Matthew . On high ground and the only thing I'm worried about is the neighbors trees. Hopefully they behave.

The 5 pm track is stressing me out. No idea where the hell I'm supposed to go to if this thing runs straight up Florida.

Man, the more I watch the news tracking this sucker, my heart goes out to everyone who will be affected.
We were just recently down there doing the Disney thing, and I can't even imagine dealing with this sort of thing barreling down.

The normal daily storms we had during the week I visited were intense enough, this is just, speechless.

They aren't called the Miami hurricanes for nothing.
I worked and stayed in Miami for 4 months years ago. Had an awesome time there.

This crazy when I saw this. I was there for Andrew. Didn't know Irma is what looks like 2.5x bigger!

Its kind of crazy how much the track has swung west now. Found a new hotel so I'm just hoping for the best.

It looks like Irma is on track to go into the gulf. How the hell are they so sure it's going to make a sharp turn into Florida?

As you all can tell I do a lot of traveling. I had to leave Orlando yesterday due to Irma. Traffic on 75 was horrendous, but fortunately people were very very amicable to each other.

Traffic moved at a rate of 18 - 24 mph with five lanes of traffic. It took 12 hours to drive from Orlando to McDounough GA.

This was a lifetime experience that we saw from the tragic side. So often we see it form the sensational TV side, but, to be a part of that makes me so much more empathetic to those in need.

Tonite I sit in a Hampton Inn in Staunton, VA having just met a gentlemen who plans on loosing everything and his in laws refused to leave. He is devastated.

I met a family (two car loads) of people who did not know where they were going, just looking for a room.

    I will go home tomorrow.

So many have or had nowhere to go. I feel so badly for them, and pray for calm hearts and speedy recorvy to them all - especially the children.

Man what a vacation and experience this was.

Well. Officially not evacing. Command deems it unnecessary.
