Make sure you don’t over tighten the bolts or it will cause a clunk noise when you are flexed. I recommend buying some rubber or nylon washers so it’s not metal on metal. It is very heavy so try and use a jack to install.

Rubber washers for the cat guards only?

More for the skid plate section where it attaches to the crossmembers/frame of the truck. You will need 4 of them if you decided you need them

I would get a pop/clunk noise backing out of my driveway before I did that

It looks like the shorted me some hardware so I may be running to HD anyways. They only sent 4 carriage head bolts for the cat guards, not 6.

    That’s sucks.

this is where the 3/8 hole is dripped. You basically are just widening* what is there and everything gets sandwiched together.

Or a milk crate works too. The first time I installed all four of their skods, I did the front two using my shoes to balance em. Then I realized I had a milk crate and it made everything easier. But a jack would work better

Nope. I'm kinda useless at follow-through. I did a rear locker and gears to prep for proper adventure with @Cruzer last fall, but he stood me up in favour of completing Insta-worthy organ-swap surgery on two trucks to prep for 2wd-worthy conditions in Parker next weekend
:angrygirl::boink: :fistbump: so I haven't felt incentive to do anything "extra". So those are in the pile of cool stuff taking up room in the garage.

Edit: I mainly bought those to add incentive to you making that long-ass drive to hang out with us last year. Leaving with beefy armour was always kind of an added benefit.

    New gears and locker? Nice!
I figured you bought em because all the cat theft in your neck of the woods. I didn't really need any incentive, though. The FOMO was enough haha

Just when I offloaded all my 18v Dewalt stuff and decided to commit to going down the Bosch path, work gave me this kit as one of a few parting gifts to take with me on 3/15. Now the question is ... keep it, or offload it?

Once upon a time, Dewalt was the tool to have when doing renovations, but that’s when they were made in the USA. So long ago…

Smart call there. I still use and abuse my 13 year old Bosch drill. It's on the original batteries. It was one of the first tools I bought after college.

Hahahaha I almost had my cat stolen again, the thief was able to make one cut and was scared away. So I went to a shop hours right anway to fix the exhaust leak and had rebar welded on as I waited for my skid plate, there were on back order for over a month

I was impressed enough with it, and at 18v, I decided to dump all my 18v Dewalt which had dead batteris. I sent what I had to @chrisb. Then I went out and bought a nice Bosch cordless impact, and it's what I've used to do all the bolt removal/install on the truck thus far.

The more I looked at my hardware the less sense it made. Almost all of it was wrong. Skid Row has great customer service though.

Kinda looks like your standard zinc coated hardware, not stainless.

You would probably know better than me. The hardware they sent for my other skids have been on there since ~2019 and haven't rusted.

Do y'all just reuse the LBJ dust shield or buy new? Does it come with the recall kit or have to buy it separately? Birmingham thought separately at least when buying separate LBJs as they don't have the kit that can still be found elsewhere.

They don’t make grade 8+ in stainless?
